He married Gertrude ( Gertie) Griffey, daughter of Benjamin Graves Griffey & Adella Latimer. Gertie was born , June 18, 1899 Arkansas, she had two sons Fred McCormack, b 1916 and Billy McCormack, b 1919, ( his name may be Billy Burton McCormack, both boys born in Arkansas, probably Sebastian County . Billy's birth date might be June 25, 1919, he may have died in 2000 in Borger Texas, however am not sure this is him. I cant locate any other information about the boys and their mother later married Marcus A Seabolt late in life, on June 27, 1932 in Grreenwood Arkansas. It is thought the parents of these folks were Nathaniel (b. 1846) and Sarah Elizabeth (b. 1848) Stephens (the spelling changes between 1880 and 1900) The family was in Jackson Co., AR in 1880 - oh how the 1890 census is missed. I am looking to determine what happened to the parents. It is not yet known if Omer, the youngest, was born in Logan or Jackson Co. or someplace else. Hello List, In the late summer of 1957, a young man was killed by a falling tree near Booneville, Arkansas. He was employed at the Savage Theater in Booneville by the owner, Walter Savage. I think he was buried in Perryville, Arkansas, where his family was from. I am searching for the newspaper article and/or his obituary. I don't remember his name. George B. McVay came to either Franklin or Logan County with his brothers William, Robert, and Daniel. Their parents died during the civil war and they were taken care of be friends and relatives in De Soto County Mississippi. I believe that they may have come to Logan County to be near relatives. George married Mary Orpha Parker. Mary was the daughter of Alexander Parker and Willie Ann McVay. I was hoping someone might have a connection with the family of David Taylor McVay. George and all his brothers moved to Polk County, Arkansas and are all buried in the Grannis Cemetery. I would gladly exchange information and would appreciate any information.
