    3. hi, Mary Frances, So good of you to reply to my email and offer to help.  Having so many of your people buried in one place must have made it easier for your research. I am guessing you may have the book, Logan County History and families (forgot just how it is titled)?  There is an article in there on John C. Holt and a picture of him.  I believe John is the brother of my grandmother, Leona Holt, but when I showed that article to my cousin several years ago, she claimed not to know who I was talking about so I am got a bit confused, but I am 99 percent sure that was my grandma's brother.  And if someone could Id the picture, I would be 100 percent certain.  The real problem lies with my grandmother's other brother, whom I know all my life as Uncle Sally, but in the article, John's brother is called Ambrose.  Would so love to find someone that was a member of Rudell Holt White (John's daughter)'s family.  I believe I met Rudell and went to her house once but I was very young and it was so long long ago, just can't remember the details. Anyway, thank you for offering to help.  Hope you will get back to me. According to the 1850 census for Prarie,Franklin it lists Sherrod, his wife, Catherine, and the children. It lists Catherines age as 23 and Franklins age as 13. I wondered if Sherrod was married when he moved to Tennessee. Franklin was born in Tennessee as well as Catherine but she would have been 10 when he was born so Sherrod may have married Catherine after his first wifes death. All Catherines children were born in Arkansas and then she died and Sherrod married Elizabeth Sharp in Franklin County in 1860. There is a headstone for Elizabeth Hunter at Boydston and I believe there is one for Rosey Catherine. Sherrod also had a daughter named Catherine who I believe mmarried Logan Herring. I found a marriage license at the Franklin county clerks office for Logan and Sarah Catherine Hunter married 1876 but the 1850 census lists her name as Catherine (Sherrods daughter ). Some trees list Rosey C! atherine as Logans wife but I dont think that James Franklins daughter was Logans wife....I believe it was Sherrods daughter. ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS APPRECIATED. 3 of Logan Herrings children are buried at Boydston with spouses. Alice Rhoda Herring Brotherton, Cora Herring Shumate, Hillery Herring. The 4th child Millard ,died in ventura California. Does anyone have any family pics of James Franklin,Elizabeth Galey Hunter or their daughters. From what I can tell you are the person whom most likely took the photographs and I would like to thank you. My story is a long one, but I have run into many dead ends.... I am seeking the truth and I know it is there.. I am just far away in Oregon which makes it a little hard. My great grandmother worked in a retirement center in the area, and became ill and they took care of her there. She died in that retirement home. That is the story I have, but do not know the name of it. She was at one time married to Thomas Milburn Norton in a 1930 census. But they had her name as Janie (I have always thought her name was Jennie). I would like to know if there is records anywhere of who would have chosen to bury her here. I think my grandfather Otis Hellett bought the stone. I would like to get my hands on the death certificate. We do not know who she was... Jt was not a ! norton or a Hellett... my grandfather was a ward of a different family... I do not even believe that Hellett was our name all the truth lies in her story. If I can find out who she really was. Then I might be able to put many of years of pain to rest with all of them. I think I have a statement from her with an attorneys letter head... stating family information, but there is just something weird about it all. Had two children with Thomas Norton, Della and Edward. I think they were in Mountain (does that make sense).. It is a pretty sad story. I believe my grandfather thought she did not love him... or did not want him. From the information I have.. looks like maybe she just had a pretty bad go of it. If you can maybe give me direction... or some thoughts because of your vast knowledge of the area. Supposedly his dad, William is buried in Seminole county although I haven't located his grave. I remember my day telling me that when his grandfather died they all piled in a relatives car for the drive to Seminole to the cemetery. But even if he did die in some other county, the letter I received specifically states that ALL counties were searched. The death certificate application instructions say they conduct a generalized search "as well as in surrounding counties". I have placed him in Le Flore, Haskell, and Latimer. Seminole is further west separated by at least 3 counties from Le Flore and two from Haskell and Latimer. So even though the letter says the searched ALL counties...maybe they didn't. I will specifically request they particularly search those counties in between Seminole and Le Flore. thanks for the suggest! ion!
