    3. Ok Frank my John H. White the old man lived in Ashley Co. in Carter Township until late in life when he and Rachael are seen living with a married Daughter in De S???? forget the name off top of head, can look up later if need be for you! I am just wondering if perhaps some of the Whites found over in Logan were connect to my John H. White................................... Betty, My John H. White is sitll married to Rachael in 1880 and I don't find them on the 1900 Census at all.....................I do not believe that my older John H. White ever remarried. But this younger or other John H. White could for all that I know be kin in some way to mine. Willy's parents were Miss Mary Ann White and her husband Edward A. Cothran who married in Calhoun Co. AL on Sept. 25, 1851 was Benton Co. at the time. Miss Mary Ann White is shown on the 1850 US Census in Jacksonville, Benton Co. AL as eldest child of John H. White and Rachael his wife! Her siblings are all listed with them as well. I have both a Ancestry.com copy of the org. census and a copy sent to me by the State of Alabama on the big sheets of paper that the states use! I also have documentation from the Calhoun Co. AL Ct. House of the marriage! It is out of the old Benton Co. Book in the back room....................IF it is not asked for in that manner you don't get it. Trust me it took me 3 years as I did not know that Calhoun use to be Benton Co. AL. Mary Ann Whites youngest two siblings who do not show up until AR with her parents were not born until after they all left Benton Co. AL. They show up as born in GA. Just like Willy and Nettie or Maddee............................. I also have found the Civil War info. on Mary Ann White's younger brothers and a lot of data on them but NOTHING at all on Mary! I know about Edward the Father of the two Cothran children because of the Gadsden Times Newspaper where he worked....................I have all the articles that ever ran on the man! His trips out to Hamburg Ar to visit his kids his obit his visits to his Mother and Sister in Centre, AL in Cherokee Co. all of that stuff.......................................... One of the meany articles that I hold copies of said "his former home was Near Atlanta" The stay in GA was short..............at best! Ok the Whites are in Calhoun/Benton Co. AL on the 1850 by 1860 they are all ready living in Hamburg, Carter, Ashley, AR 1870 they are still there and that year have the two Cothran Children with them as well! Then in 1880 Quite aged they are still there AR living with a married daughter and her family and still have Mattee with them she is now 17 that year and still single! Oh ok it is Willy {William} that was in Bstrap or Bestrap or De Bstrap some such place in AR with the Price Woman! I have seen a Cothran listed as Edward in Tenn before and wondered if that could be him. But have not checked it out................perhaps I should seeing as how I can't seem to find him in GA or "near Atlanta" Gail ----- Original Message ----- From: "Frank Cochran" <fcochran@hiwaay.net> To: <ARLOGAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, February 20, 2006 6:38 PM Subject: Re: [ARLOGAN] John H. Surnames: Henson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/kV.2ADE/1807 Message Board Post: Looking for anyone with access to any record or family information about the George Henson family listed in 1900 census in Logan Co. (wife Mary, sons Aram, Asbey; daughters Bettie, Ladina, Versie). I'm trying to determine if he is the George Henson b. abt 1853 in Platte Co., MO, to Abner Henson and Amanda Miller. Amanda later moved to Kansas and married twice more to Blackburn and then to Beckwith. In the 1900 census he is listed with a birthplace of MO; in 1910 he is listed with birthplace of KY- the family seems to be the same so I don't know if I have the right George Henson or not. Any help appreciated.

These Whites were from Georgia and South Carolina, and the ones of this family who came here originally came pretty mush directly from Georgia in a wagon train. Surnames: Springer, Lassiter, Hooper Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kV.2ADE/1802 Message Board Post: This is a letter written by W. O. Springer to his daughter, Pearl Lassiter. In the original letter there were no paragraphs. I have adhered to the exact spelling and punctuation shown in the original letter. He makes reference to his granddaughter, Monadene, who is suffering from Whooping Cough. Pearl and Monadene lived in Los Angeles California in 1939. Huntington, AR April 7, 1939 Dear Pearl and family, We got your letter this morning was glad to hear. We are about as usual. We have had lots of rain it is cold here. Last night was cold and splinters of ice and a big frost. I think lots of damage. Pearl I will enclose you 4 one dollar bills. Lig* sent you 4 and I do hope Monadene gets better and that you can get some help on work. Times are pretty bad and may get worse. It seems war has started in Europe. Everybody here in Sebastian on relief work but I hear they will drop 400 tomorrow in Sebastian Co. Athen** may get it. Lig said honey would be good for Monadene. Lela's*** children like to have died last Spring and it just held on. Anna May**** had it when she was operated on. We had a time. Of course measles are bad too. Be careful. Keep this for Monadene's use. This is money I got from the Woodsmen*****. A refund check. Maybe she will soon get better. Buy her something she needs. Let me know when you get this. I am wondering what people will do. I can't get on the pension or anything because we live in house with someone. It is a rotten Deal. Some starve others all fed. I want to go to Owens****** but it stays so cold I have lifted Lig until I am broke down. I have just stayed right here since last fall. Be good and careful Trust God, put your faith in Him. He knows best and will save all who trust Him these are dangerous times and I think the last Days are on us With Love to you all W.O. Springer *Lig is Lelia Ligget (Hooper) Springer, wife of W.O. Springer. She suffered from serious arthritis and was an invalid. ** Athen is Athen Robinson, W.O.'s son-in-law, husband of Verona Irby, W.O.'s daughter. *** Lela is W.O.'s daughter, married to Alton (Sour) Lemmons, living in Red Oak, OK. **** Anna Mae is W.O.'s granddaughter, daughter of Lillian Springer. Lillian died after childbirth. Lillian was married to Bill Cross. Later Bill Cross married to Neosha, another daughter of W.O. Springer. Anna Mae was raised by her grandparents, her Aunt Neosha, and her Father. *****Woodsmen may refer to an organization called Woodsmen of the World. It was for men only. ******Owen Manus was W.O. Springer's son-in-law, married to his daughter, Opal.
