Robin, my aunt was born Avry Smith in Logan County, Ellsworth PO. Her parents were Cardwell B R Smith and Louisa Thompson Smith. She married ? Fryar (Friar). When I visited Paris in 1948, she was living there at that time. I know nothing about the Friars. Can you connect this input with your study? Thanks, and let me know please. My records show Caroline (___) Friar/Fryar Rogers is buried in Hixson Cemetery in Logan County, Arkansas. The dates on her marker are May 27, 1824, and November 4, 1896. I think you're right, Frank, it's due north of the monastery maybe 5 miles and the McKendree Methodist church is on the left and the cemetery on the right. The cemetery is in very good shape, but I'm afraid the church will go down in the future since it's no longer used. It's a really beautiful little frame church. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Frank Cochran" <fcochran@hiwaay.net> > So far as I know, there is only one McKendree Cemetery, and it is still in > use as a burial ground.

That cemetery is slightly South east of Patterson's Bluff so it's quite likely the place to find your McDonald's. I'm hoping to attend a family reunion at Paris at the beginning of July, and will probably go to the cemetary but don't know that I'll have much time. I wonder if there is a published book of Logan county cemeteries?
