Hi Carole: Would you have the 1910 census for Ione, Logan County, I need to find the Shackleford household and who all was in it. He had two daughters married to my Uncle and cousin. Caroline Shackleford married to Houston Grayson in 1908. Martha Shackleford married to A.C. Amos in 1911. I think these two girls were sisters so I am trying to locate their parents and siblings. Thanks for any help you can give me or point me in the direction I need to go. Thanks Rowena Vincent [email protected]
Carole, would you mind checking on your 1880 census to see if there are Stewarts on there? That is my great grandma's maiden name, her brother was born there...he was born in 1888 and she is older than him we believe...it may show us who their parents were, or give us some names to research. thanks so much Teressa
Rowena, I only have the 1880 Logan County census. I suggest you check your local library. If they don't have it they can order it on an interlibrary loan. Or if you have a LDS library near you thats the best. They usually have these available and are very helpful. Teressa, Have you tried the Oklahoma death records? If she was in Stigler, Ok. you might check with the Archives or the Genealogy in Oklahoma city. they are in the same building. She could possibly be buried in Ok. they sometimes had a cemetery close to the sanitoriums. good hunting' Laverne Blair Copeland

Teressa, I am not knowledgable in Indian Research...........Remember that in the 1860 Missouri census, your Workman relatives named INDIANA as their birthplace in fact they said Greene Co., Indiana didn't they???? In the civil war records? YES, your Sylvester Workman enlisted in 1st Ark Cav. at age 19, on 8 Sept 1862, and said he was born in Ozark County, Missiouri where he enlisted. His brother John Workman signed up for the same UNION Calvary unit and was age 23 on 23 Aug. 1862, when he also enlisted in Ozark County, Missouri, John Workman said he was born in Green County, Indiana..............Their parents also said Indiana was their birthplaces in the 1860 census of Ozark Co., Missouri........remember I told you there are a LOT of Workman's in various countys of Missouri, a suprizing number of familys.......bet they are related!!!!!!! Many of them show Indiana as Birth State. If you have the Union Pension Records for Sylvester Workman, who was shown as died in Stigler, Ok; in his pension records.......this PROVES who he is and you go from there.
