    3. Dear Faye, That is great news. I'm glad Bobbie is still with us. Her book site no longer links up. I wrote to the Arkansas Ancestors snail mail addy and never got an answer. Also I can't find any of her books on Desmond Walls Allen site either. I'll keep looking. Hope you have been well and having great success in your genealogy search. 3. Bobbie is alive and kicking as far as I know .......although she is not listed as "Arkansas Ancestors" in the phone book. She has done many books with Desmond Walls Allen, owner of Arkansas Research which does have a website online for ordering Arkansas Books. I am not sure if she carrys this "Logan County Marriages the first fifty years", I too bought mine from Bobbie several years ago by phoning her in Hot Springs, AR. To check go to: http://www.ArkansasResearch.com I think she sells the 1880 Logan County Census now. Hi Teressa, Have you ask for information on any Indian Reservations in the Logan County area? I'm not aware of any Native American heritage in my line........ then again, I don't have a lot of information on them either. I will keep your message in my file for future reference. > it says on Eldora's marriage certificate..her name is Steward...on > Louis' marriage certificate..it says his name is Stewart! ? .... My branch was STEWARD as well but I've found the surname on marriage , death, and census records spelled with all the above variants. I looked at all the variants in the 1880 Logan County census and all seem to have parents from Tennessee. My family were in Oklahoma by about 1910 and VERY difficult to trace. Good Luck with your research. Connie ------NEATO: http://www.neato.net------

    3. my great grandfather was also born in logan county.....his family is also from tennesee.....we are not sure where the stewarts/stewards are from....but it is said that families moved around together....my great grandmother was married in Choctaw naiton ..in OK as well in 1905...that is where all my grandma's sisters as well as herself were born...my great grandmother's brother Louis was also married in Choctaw nation ....so it is possible for the Yates and Workman's to have migrated from TN to AR and then to OK..but we have absolutely no idea:( we know about our great grandfather....he is also of Cherokee descent...just finging the roll number and for sure the relative has been very hard....native american genealogy can be so much more difficult to trace.....my great grandmother did not have a social security number...her brother did...and i knew him..he died when i was five and i remember him...but wehre they came from...their parents are a mystery! i am going to OK on the 22nd and going to the Choctaw Nation Headquarters to see if i can find out anything...as well as Talihina to see if i can find where my great grandmother is buried...she was put in a TB institute and remained there for two years till her death.....hopefully we can find our Stewart/Steward family! it is a goal for me! hard one too! i am diving back into genealogy..i took the summer off....to be outside! but i am going full force again so i will keep your email address and let you know if i find out anything.....we have alot of the same things in our family....name spelling and where our family is from....there are also links where you can look up things...some census without paying...and the library may have a micofilche room..the university does here...try that! good luck Teressa

    2. According to birth and census, Arkansas. As of yet, I have no information about Texas. It is frustrating because I only have a name and not even sure if that name is spelled correctly. My great grandfather was married three times and this Maria is his second wife. I have no information on the first wife who is either from Oklahoma or Arkansas. They had one daughter together and I have her birth date (no place) and death year as well as place. I found the information on Maria from her second son's birth record and from her first son's obituary. I have a video tape of one of my great grandfather's daughters on her 90th birthday and she stated that the first two wives died in childbirth as that is what she was told. Thank you Mary Murphy
