    1. Re: [ARLOGAN] Families from Walker County Georgia
    2. I am so excited about all of this. The number of people who had ancestors who moved from Walker Co to Western Ark. is fascinating. My Harwell family lived at Belva, too. Do you have family buried at French Prairie Cemetery which is just down the road from where Belva used to be?

    1. [ARLOGAN] Blackwell-Sutton families
    2. I am looking for information on Ginevra Sutton Blackwell (1875-1910- buried in Chickalah), mother of Wiley, Quantrell and Geneva Virginia Blackwell. Also looking for information on her husband, James Monroe Blackwell (1832-1916). Ginevra Sutton had a brother "Lum" (possibly John William Columbus Sutton). My grandmother, Geneva Virginia Blackwell (born 1905) grew up in Chickalah (Yell county) and married William Herbert White, Sr. who was raised on Mt. Salem (Logan county). Her brothers Wiley and Quantrell later lived in Oklahoma andboth died in the 1960's. Thanks very much, David White

    2. Dina McBride
    3. Hi Sheila, My husband's McBrides are actually from Marietta, Ohio until he and his brother left in the late 70's. Before that they were just a little north of Marietta. Prior to the late 1700s, we *think* they may have come from Ireland or Scotland. We kind of lose the trail. We aren't aware of any going on to Arkansas - however, there are several branches of the tree, so to speak that we have no further information on. Interesting, though, because we have LOTS of William McBrides (my son is even named that!). What is your Fort connection? Blessings, dina

    3. I am hoping that someone can help me. My husbands ggranmother was born on Indian Territory in Arkansas at least that is what her death cert. lists. My problem is I have found her in the 1880 census but not the 1870 census, she would have been 3-4 years old. Her mother was a servant for a couple in the 1870 census, but I couldn`t find her. Is there a census for the indian terr or is it listed in a nother state. I am hoping that someone can advise me on where to look. Thank You Melinda Wade

    1. [ARLOGAN] Thanks for info 1880 census
    2. I really appreciate knowing that on the LDS web site they had the 1880 census posted. It has been a treasure of information for me. I have a challenge though. A couple and their children should be listed in the Johnson County Ark. census. They were a prominent family. They may, however, been living temporarily in Indian Territory. Since that was not yet Oklahoma, Indian Territory is not listed as a search site. Where would one find census for territories who were not yet states? History Commission? Does anyone know or another on line site for such? Thanks.

    3. Doug, you do know that the wife of William D., Katie Q, is also buried in the Lyles Cemetery, 3 miles west of Booneville, don't you? Also, there is a Robert L. Wilson b. 1881 and died the same year as Katie, 1904. I have family buried in that cemetery also. Sorry, I do not know anything about your Wilson family but the Lyles Cemetery caught my eye.
