Has anyone traced the Self or Wallen name from Ga to Ar to OK? I would be very much interested in any info on these two surnames names. Thanks Merial ([email protected])
Thanks, I'll add them.
I would also like to add a name to the Walker Co list. If you search in Walker Co, GA you will notice that alot of families before and after the war seem to move to Dade and Floyd Co in Georgia. My family was the Winters and they lived near the Scott and Logan border. Thanks Ronnie

Does anyone have Walkers that came from Scotland? For some reason that I cannot now remember, I book-marked a page or pages of Walkers that live or were living in Scotland. Will forward it on to anyone interested. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, November 09, 2002 3:26 PM Subject: Re: [ARLOGAN] Family names--Walker to Scott Logan > Thanks, I'll add them. > > > ==== ARLOGAN Mailing List ==== > If you wish to subscribe to or unsubscribe from the > Logan Co., AR list, use > [email protected] or > [email protected] if > you are on the Digest list. > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > >
Can you give me a time frame on these people. Patterson's Bluff was an important shipping port on the Arkansas River in Logan Co.

In the Oct 30, 2002 Paris Express there was an obit for Fay H. Needham. I believe him to be a descendant of Thomas F. and Martha A. Needham. If there is anyone on this list who is researching the Needham Family and can help would love to hear from you. Thanks in advance. Neosha

It would be interesting to see how many of those persons from Walker County, Georgia are related. Family often followed family. I was told many years ago by a professional genealogist that people most often traveled from one place to another in a straight line. If you draw a line from Walker County, Georgia it comes through Little Rock and Logan County. Those who had family stop off in Alabama or Mississippi could look for counties on that line. SHC
I have just been amazed at the number of responses I have received. I am about the decide that about 75% of the settlers in Scott/Logan were from Walker Co.Ga. If you would like to join that list it is: [email protected] I will be willing to act as a clearing house for descendents from Walker Co. in Arkansas. In the interest of privacy I don't think I should just share everyone's e-mail address. Over the weekend I plan to post all the family names that I have received so far and then can do a match up if people are interested in a particular family. There are also the following sites: Reville, Reville Valley, Magazine, Magazine Mtn. Those are by invitation but all you have to do is tell me you want to be subscribed to them. The family information on the Reville site, especially, has been fascinating.
My grandmother Daisy born in Booneville, Logan, AK 1881 and I have not been able to locate any information for her family there. In 1900 she was married in Stigler, OK to my grandfather Wm F . McQuilliams. Possibility her mother was part Cherokee or Chocktaw Anyone have any leads for me? Thanks, Frank
What do you need on the Titsworth family. There is a nice article in the Logan County Arkansas book. I may have Fullers but will have to check. I know we have a Fuller Cross so there might be a connection. The Titsworths came into Logan Co. area in the 1820's. I am not kin but there is a lot of info on them.
My family migrated from Ga to AR. Do you have Berry's, Fuller's, Titsworth's, Cotton's in your family? > A number of families from Walker County Ga. Dear friends, For about two years we have been working an on extensive website with history of Primitive Baptist Churches, county by county, in over thirty states, across the northern, eastern and western tier of our country. Some of these states have only sketchy information, others (such as Illinois and Iowa) are quite detailed, with lists of surnames of members which have been taken from our database of members, which now has nearly 40,000 entries. About half of these names are for Illinois. To view our website, go to the following URL: http://www.carthage.lib.il.us/community/churches/primbap/pbl.html To go directly to the pages we are just beginning for Arkansas, go to http://www.carthage.lib.il.us/community/churches/primbap/FamHist-Arkansas .html We would be grateful for any assistance anyone can give us as we try to preserve our heritage, by obtaining and preserving old church records, association minutes, historical sketches, biographical sketches of ministers, photos, etc. We have very limited staff, volunteer, but will do our best to respond as time permits. Sincerely, Elder Robert Webb The Primitive Baptist Library 416 Main Street Carthage, IL 62321 ________________________________________________________________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month!
