Don't know how they escaped 1880 and 1900 census either, but they're not alone -- can't find BF Johnson or Emily in those census, or Ida Richardson anywhere. I see from land patent info. that JL Richardson's homestead (started 1889, certificate 1896) was nearly adjoining SM and BD's. So would make sense that Richardson family might be Ida's. These homesteads were in Wallace area, I think (not too good on the geography). Land BF and Emily acquired about 1868 was close to Rocky Comfort, and originally homesteaded by Lemuel Taylor I think (homestead certificate 1860). David Taylor is grantee on 1868 mortgage document. BF and Emily also owned and sold some land near Aleene. Is that close to Lick Creek area where Emily had family (Carroll and Curry) from Louisiana? Her brother Jacob Curry was in Jackson before 1860, maybe the first to come. Emily and others followed. But still don't know how BF got there, alone or with them. Workin! g at finding out. Thanks Rayedene. Franklin Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
