I believe Clara M b 1897 on 1900 and Mertie C. b 1897 on 1910 are the same. We move on to Sam's next marriage to Lou Hudgens and the 1920. There are her children Elizabeth Hudgens 1908 TX, Dan Scholes 1911 TX & Harold Scholes 1912 TX with Mildred and Franklin still home. They have added Louise 1917 and Samuel 1918. On the 1930 Ashdown LR Co census, there is a Lue Johnson widowed with children Sammie 12, Beatrice 10, Josephine 8 & Jewel 6. Is this the widow of Samuel? Next door(with HH info stiked out)listed as dtr. is Elizabeth Cockrell 23 div with children. Says she married at 15 but the only marriage I find for Cockrell to an Elizabeth was maiden name Steed. The yr was 1926 and she would have been older than 15. But given the way her children were born, 3 under the age of 3, I do not believe she was 15 or else there would have been at least 5 kids in 7 yrs of marriage. If the marriage I found for Elizabeth Steed to Lomil Cockrell is correct and she was divorced by Apr 4 1930, then Sarah Elizabeth Steed remarried Marvin Yarborough Apr 26 1930. None of them are listed in the cem bk as it was published abt 1974. There is a marriage for Beatrice Johnson to JP Studebaker Dec 16 1939. There are TX birth records for Perry Gordon Studebaker and Beatrice Ruby Johnson. He died in 1956 CA, there is another birth record for Ruby Beatrice Johnson & Richard Price. Then there is a death record in CA for Ruby Beatrice Price b AR 1922 mthr maiden name Patts, fthr Johnson. SSDI says she recd her card in TX. There is also a death record & SSDI for Richard Price in same county CA, he recd his card in AR. Dan S Scholes b 1910 died 1994 in LR Co. There would be a death cert on him. I found him on the SSDI. There is a Sam Johnson b Mar 1918 who died in LR Co 1996. There was also a Samuel Johnson b Apr 1918 who died in OK 1998. On the 1920 census taken Jan 13 he was 1yr 9mos There is a marriage for Josie Johnson to T. Neal Dec 25 1937 and a marriage for Jewell Faye Johnson to Arvel Lee Tullis may 2 1942. I do not know if these are 2 of the kids or not but I did find an Arvel L Tullis in Hope AR age 83. Samuel Lee Johnson married Lillie Mae Edwards Apr 16 1938. One of the things you may want to do is to go back to the Hudson Cem listings and look at who is buried around Samuel. Right next to Lillie M is an Annie W Jones b 1898. On the other side of SM there are some Fords. One of the reasons I wanted to post all of this to the list instead of personal emails is because it is here for others to use. These Johnsons, Trammells, Cartwrights, Mauldins, etc are all intertwined and it is confusing to track. Also, this way it won't have to be searched again as it is documented(although in fragments).
