There may be more deeds -- these are just ones I happened to come across. One deed on page 178 of deed book 52 says that "Whereas Thomas Trammell died sized and possessed of the following described lands in Little River County, Arkansas, to wit: SW 1/4 SW 1/4 Section 6, NW 1/4 NW 1/4 Section 7, both in Township 13S, Range 31W, and SE 1/4 SE 1/4 Section 1, NE 1/4 NE 1/4 Section 12 both in Township 13S, Range 32W containing 160 acres and the following named persons are his heirs at law to wit, Elizabeth Cartwright, John Trammell, James Trammell, Tuck Trammell, Martha Johnson, Lucy Johnson, Mary Mauldin, being eight, Now, therefore, I Elizabeth Cartwright one of the said heirs at law of the said Thomas Trammell deceased..." --- and the document goes on to explain that she (Elizabeth Trammell Cartwright) is trading her undivided 1/8 share of the 160 acres described above to Joseph A. Mauldin in exchange for another piece of land that Mauldin owns. Eight heirs are mentioned, but only seven are named in this document. I also found other transactions between Joseph A Mauldin and the Trammell heirs. Mauldin purchased the land of JJ Trammell and CC Trammell in 1890, the land of Martha Acenath Trammell Johnson (owned by her minor children Elijah F. and Juda Ethel Johnson, and sold by their father/guardian Samuel M. Johnson in 1898), the land of Lucy May Trammell Johnson (owned by her minor children Ellen, Lewis, Virgil, and Gracie Johnson, and sold by their father/guardian Benjamin D. Johnson in 1900). Though these deeds were dated as above, they were all 'filed for record' on 30 Dec 1915. Even the original Thomas Trammell homestead certificate (issued 1 Mar 1855) was filed for record at the court on 30 Dec 1915. There may be more court records involving the Trammell family and lands for you to research around that 1915 date . Re. Martha Acenath Trammell: There is a reference in one deed to Samuel M. Johnson being made the guardian "by order of the Probate Court of Little River County, Arkansas, made at it's October term, 1897" of two minor children, Elijah F. and Juda E. Johnson, and the property they owned. Juda Ethel Johnson was Martha and Samuel's daughter, born in 1887. She is living with Samuel on the 1900 census, she married Joseph Thomas Eubanks in 1902, and she died in 1947 in Fannin Co., TX. It appears Elijah F. Johnson may have been Martha and Samuel's son, but I have not found mention of him on any record other than this one deed. The probate record from 1897 was on an index at the Little River County court but, unfortunately, the actual probate file wasn't found. Hope this gives you some leads for further research.
