I found no tombstone for Martha Henderson in that county. Marie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I just met Mark Treadway who lives in TN. He has been researching genealogy for 32 years and transcribing records for 28 years. He has just put out his first genealogy newsletter. It is free. If you would like to subscribe and or contribute you may contact him at sparky@netmichigan.net Jane Foley SC
There will be an upcoming program on PBS on March 4th at 3 AM called "FACES OF AMERICA, Know Thyself". It has to do with the latest on DNA. There are Hollywood stars that learn about their family histories thru their "spit". It might be worth watching or taping where you can see it later. I did verify this on line with the PBS website. Another program along the same theme is "Who Do You Thing You Are" - It's Friday, March 5th at 8 pm Eastern and 7 pm Central - NBC Jane Foley SC

A Clayborne Butler is in Mc Curtain County in 1910 & 1920. I am interested in Tom Deloney who is in the same HH with him. Wanted to know if there is a possible tie between the two? Judge Hicks and his wife Sallie Johnson/Johnston Hicks are buried at Hicks Cemetery. What is the history of the cemetery? Was there a school /church in the area c. 1890? Judge lived in AL and GA before coming to AR with his parents. Amos Hicks is his father. Sallie was born in AL and moved to AR about 1869. The Johnston families moved to CA about 1940. Judge and Sallie had two daughters: Lillie and Mattie. Lillie married Jesse Hill. Mattie married Claud Spraug and moved to MO. Judge had many brothers and sisters. I don't know what became of the Hick's families. I'd appreciate any information! THANKS Debbi Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My grandparents were all born in AR and all born between 1896-1906. They have delayed birth certificates because there was no filing on births before 1914 by the state. It was up to the individual to do that and to also provide the witnesses to state that is indeed where they were born. Hope that helps, Rayedene Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. What do you mean by the delayed birth certificates? Did you need a copy of your birth certificate in order to apply for social security? We know Maggie was alive in 1934 as she provided the information when her father died, but haven't found her since then. Looking at the family on the 1900 census in IL, the older dtr b TX & Maggie AR tells me with his job on the RR, he was being moved around. Maggie either did not file for the delayed birth certificate or she died before she got the opportunity. My understanding is if she had filed, it would be on this cd since her birth occurred more than 100 yrs ago.
