It's probably based on info. I passed on to her, and was the best I knew at the time. Louis Dore(r) was an individual who was most likely her first husband, but I never found proof of that, and still haven't. And Mary Lucrecie Duncan was the best name I had for Lucretia E. Duncan. My father (her son by Samuel M. Johnson, and who was about 5 years old when she died) thought her name was Mary Louise Duncan, but I haven't seen Mary on any documents I've found. Mortgages she later signed with Samuel M. Jonson give her name as Lucretia E. or Lucrecie E. Johnson. Lucretia E. was most likely her real name -- she was the daughter of Elijah Duncan and Eliza Jane (Lewis) Duncan, and had a maternal grandmother named Lucretia E. Dickson. Both my father and the death certificate for Dollie May Dore stated her family name was Duncan. Her first husband might have been James Dore, as reported on Dollie's DC, but I don't know t! hat from any other source, and haven't found any Duncan/Dore marriage record. The Dore children are all said to have been born in AR, and I'm thinking the first marriage to Dore would probably have been in Little River or Miller AR or possibly in a nearby Texas county. The closest record I've found is this: Texas Marriages, 1837-1973 Groom's Name: J. B. Dorough Bride's Name: Mary L. Duncan Marriage Date: 25 Nov 1886 Marriage Place: , Fannin, Texas. Thomas that has parents as James Dore and Lucinda Duncan. She died Jul 30 1960 in Grayson Co TX. Maybe that is where the James came in. I know looking at the census, sometimes Janes name looked like James(1910). This was added as a post to the 1930 census for Dollie stating:"Dollie May Dore Thomas rather than Dollie Thomas daughter of Louis Dore b. 1868 and Mary Lucrecie E. Duncan, Submitted by gcskidmore on 5/10/2009 That was information I had not seen or known before so now I will look for Louis Dore b 1868. I am his granddaughter. I am Charles Dore's daughter. My father was born October 1925, he was just 4 when his father married Ethel and she didn't want Gracie and Charley's children, so they no longer had a mother, she had died when dad was 2. And now no father. Edith and Dad were given to a family to live and work for them. Thank goodness other family members offered them a home to live. Does anyone know the name of Charley Dore's father? I can't find his name. Some have James G Dore as his name but I think they have Jane G Dore instead. No sources to back up the name James. At the December 18th meeting she performed an "Instrumental Solo". Then on April 2nd, Mrs. Grover Cobb evidently gave a talk on "Can we have a Muscal Club in Ashdown?" In the 1915-1916 booklet, Mrs. Grover Cobb is listed as a member of the Music Committee and the School Improvement Committee. At the November 5th meeting Mrs. Grover Cobb was listed as one of the hostesses. At the March 17th meeting Mrs. Gvoer Cobb gave a reading "Selection from Fay Hempstead." This means that Mrs. Grover Cobb knew my great-grandmother Mrs. C Y Trice. I'm sorry that I was unable to find a Fortune, Davis or Keener member. Each small booklet lists monthly programs, yearly officers, and members who have responsibility for parts of each monthly program. These ladies are usually only listed as Mrs. (initials) Surname. The monthly topics are very interesting: from countries, states, music, literature and much more. For the 1913-1914 year committees included Park, Tree Planting and Flower Culture, Library, Entertainment, Music, Sanitary, Junior Leage, Court Square, County Fair and Historical, and Temperance and Civil Service Reform.
