You would have to go through the archives to do so, but it's worth the effort to apply!! A written request needs to go to this gov't place with the filled out, to the best of your knowledge of what you know about the individual whose service rec'd you are asking for and some information about your relationship to the individual. Since these individuals have since passed on, this information fits under the Freedom of Information Act. Remember, that the more you are able to share with the gatekeeps/finders of this information, the faster you'll get what you need to make connections; too, the more info you give the better those who will be sharing with you will give and will be able to find. 3. Your request for assistance gives no dates, no places, or specifics as to where all these events were supposed to have taken place but still, we as onlookers are still held hopefully able to assist you. This request is so much like the postings so many people make of their ancestors, who have come before with the information only a name and year given with no place of the important events were supposed to be 'a connecting one' to which, a by passer will be able to connect with...that has no fact finding and definitive information given with substance by which to make a connection, thus one just passes it by and goes on. Do you think you could be more specific, please, if you really are interested in locating these individuals? rfhouston@mindspring.com -----Original Message----- From: arlittle-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:arlittle-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of arlittle-request@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, May 13, 2013 2:01 AM To: arlittle@rootsweb.com Subject: ARLITTLE Digest, Vol 8, Issue 10 Today's Topics: 1. I have a subscription to newspaperarchives. In there is the obit on your grandfather. It states he was the son of the late Mr & Mrs Jacob Friedline. It also states he is survived by a brother Jacob of Iowa. I find in the WWl cards a Jacob Louis living in Macoupin IL, his card states next of kin is Wm of Greene Co IL. Jacob was b Jun 6 1898. I tried to attach the newspaper pg to this post, but it would not accept it. Send me your email if you are interested and I will forward it to you.
