Looking into him I find his name is John Henry Cranfill who has a younger brother Stephen L Cranfill b 1859 TN. They were born in Meigs Co. I can not find a death on Stephen but John Henry died in Vandervoort Polk Co AR in abt 1912. Marriages for LR Co show SL Cranfeet to Melinda Anderson Mar 3 1901. On the 1910 LR Co census, she does have 4 children with her from the two marriages. In house before her is Lillian Vanscoder b 1883 who I believe is the dtr "Rillie" on the 1900 census b 1884. The 1900 census with the ME Anderson, is a female as head and is widowed with the Anderson children I have listed marriages for below. She is most likely Matilda Elizabeth. Marriages: Henrietta L. I believe she was the 16-year-old "Betty" enumerated in their household in 1880. I have a copy of the Bond for Marriage License signed by Wm Anderson on 20 December 1882 in Little River County for a marriage license granted to himself and Elizabeth Bush. John R Milam signed as security. The bond was not returned. Anderson's name on the bond is written as Wm Anderson in two places. The "m" is superscript and underlined, and would appear to be an abbreviation for the name "William." He signed it, however, "W. M. Anderson" ... very distinct uppercase W. and M. The 1900 Little River County census has M Anderson as head of household, but no wife shown. Children are Rosetta R, 15, Rillir? R, 12; Henry Etta, 10; W M (son), 9; and Florence D, 4 (was originally marked as age 6 but scored through.) Wonder where Betty was in 1900 when the census man came around? The "next-door" household was that of Willim? Anderson, with wife Katie, 27 (This was Zilpha "Kate" Bush Anderson, also the daughter of John Henry Bush & Margaret McClain). Children listed there were Lorena, 5; Irvin, 4, Carrie, 7 months; and Ethel E (niece), 10. (I have a copy of the marriage license granted to W. R. Anderson and Miss Z O Bush, who were married 27 Dec 1893 in Little River County, Arkansas. Book C, page 147.) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
