Smith Township was in Drew County [the Lincoln part] in 1846. It was abolished between 1850-60 and recreated between 1860-70. In 1871 it became part of Lincoln County when Lincoln was formed. The extreme se part was f rom Desha and the other from Drew. Bayou Bartholomew was the dividing line from nw to se with Well Bayou Twshp being on the other side. The southern border of Smith was the Drew line. The Smith Township people in 1850 are in the Drew Co. Census. Rebecca
