Mullikin (my great-grandfather) stole a horse and so he was put in the penitentiary in 1920, most of the family denied it but on the 1920 Census, he was not listed. Let's just say I caught a daughter-in-law of his on a good day and therefore I got the "goods" on Papaw Mullikin, <grin>. A cousin to his wife remembered having to go and bring them food and help them out during the time he was in jail, she had 7 children to care for.
