    3. Hi there........... Anyone heard of a church in Lincoln Co. called "Pilgrim's Rest?" My g-gft, William Pleasant White, helped in the organization of that church in 1922. It must have went 'belly-up' as I can't find anything about it!! In his ministerial credentials, it was referred to as the Freewill Baptist Church of Christ, Pilgrim's Rest, County of Lincoln, State of Arkansas. I looked at the list of churches, but didn't find this particular one. My direct family lines in Lincoln Co. are, Prewett/McFalls/White/Hellums.....and my son-in-law's lines are Partridge/Fletcher, located way over there in the Gould area...... Thanks for any help with the above. Jann Woodard ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Bid and sell for free at http://auctions.yahoo.com

    1. James Henry Ingram
    2. Dianne Ingram
    3. I need direction. My husband's grandpa was: James Henry Ingram. b: 17 MAR 1864 in Effingham Co. Il d: 27 JUL 1908 - buried in Tyro Cemetery near Colman,AR. He has a Woodman of the World Marker. In 1900 James and Margaret Alice (Chezem) Ingram were in Mainshore Township, Greene Co. Ark. He was renting and lived on a farm. Everyone in the family were born in Illinois. CHILDREN: Lena Ingram b: 14 Feb. 1893 Stephen Ralph Ingram b: 12 MAR 1899. James Henry died between census. Mortality schedules are taken at time of census for people dying the previous year (i.e 1909) - he died 1908. Arkansas did not start keeping death records until 1914. Star City has no vital records. The newspaper of Star City has had a fire - nothing available for 1908. Woodman of the World keeps records for only 10 years. Can ANYONE think of where I can find maybe Tax records? Another town that may have reported his obit? Local funeral home? Please help. Dianne Ingram ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 1. New Lincoln Site and so forth
    2. Hello everyone, I am the new Lincoln County Coordinator. Debbie is passing the torch to me and hopefull I can carry the torch as well as she did. I have sent the information to rootsweb regarding the URLs for the site but if they don't have it up yet it's at: http://www.rootsweb.com/arlincol It's bare bones at the moment as I don't have any of the old information or new yet. If you have some to contribute, just e-mail me. There is a search feature on it as well but it has not been updated through Rootsweb yet, so it won't do anything but give you a dead end. There is also a query system up and running. Sorry there isn't much there yet but it is under construction and would appreciate all your building materials. Do you show any Newman, Spears, Reynolds, or Hairston on the marriage list? I would appreciate the information. I have a copy of the LINCOLN COUNTY HISTORY BOOK and a copy of the LINCOLN COUNTY CEMETERIES. I'll be glad to help people. >> I will check your names Miss Diann in my marriage index. I don't know if the obits that Peg posted are in the Main Archives of AR, I would think there would be a link for Lincoln County Archives but I didn't see one. Oren, as far as your death dates look-up, try this e-mail, it's for Tracy Converse and she is a genealogist and has all types of books, etc. and she might be able to help you. converse@efortress.com

    1. Cemetery Lookups
    2. Oren, I looked in the Lincoln Co. Cemetery Book and did not find the names you needed. This book was published in 1984, and it could be outdated. I do know that a lady posted some Lincoln Co. cemeteries, after going to them to transcribe herself, and they are on the Arkansas Archives. You might check that area. Also, as long ago as what you are looking for...the headstones could be gone or they were buried on their own land and can't be found. Happy Hunting, Diann
