    2. Stephens-Avery Family
    3. Hello, I am searching for anyone with a connection to the J.A. "Alex" Osborn and Ellen Donaldson family. They married in 1888 in Lincoln Co. and supposedly had twelve children, six girls and six boys. I only have the names of four children: Callie Donis, William, Rosie, and Ionia. Another son may have been named Henry and one of the sons was a preacher. Thanks for your help, Jo-Ann Stephens Bahai@netusa1.net

After the death of Ellen Anne, Kendrick remarried to Belle Monk, in 1911. Belle and Kendrick continued farm life as listed above and raised a second family. Their children were; Grace Mae, Buck Creed, Gus Collins, Gladys Inez, Margarette Ellen, and Jake William. Kendrick was a tall man with dark wavy hair and mustache. He had dark brown eyes. Later in life he had snow white hair and mustache. He was a quiet, but stern man. Later in life he walked with a cane, and if he pointed that cane and told you to do something, you moved. He loved his family and his God. Ellen Anne had dark hair and eyes. Belle was a tiny woman, standing only 4 foot, 11 inches. She had gray eyes and black hair with tiny waves all over. Belle, or Miss Belle, as everyone called her was always laughing. She was an excellent cook, and made the best fried chicken in the world. She would surely put Colonel Sanders to shame. She always made everyone that came to her home feel welcome, and I know that I loved her dearly. Gus was retarded and lived with the family until his death from poor circulation and heart disease. He is buried at Heflin, near his mother and father. Anyone have Monks in their line? 1. [ARLINCOL] Now asking for volunteers to do the 1900 census
    2. Okay, I am now taking volunteers to do the 1900 Census: Auburn - ? Bartholamew - ? Spring - ? Cane Creek - ? Lone Pine - ? Choctaw - ? Kimbrough - ? Owen - Wendy Barry Mill Creek - Kathy Baker Smith - ? Wells Bayou - ? this would involve you using a word processor enabling you to use either the .doc or .txt file extensions. This won't be anything fancy and a sample will be included. This will be a chain thing. Meaning, I will send it to Kathy and she will send it to the next person. That's the way I guess we will have to do it. Any other suggestions are appreciated. This is just too much for me to do but I feel will benefit many on the site. 1. [ARLINCOL] Updates to the site
    2. I have redone the marriage page and the 1880 immortality page, I am asking if some of you listers out there could take the time to go to the site and look at them to be sure they are legible/readable/viewable. Thanks! As we speak my cousin Peg is in Star City collecting a bunch of data, I am climbing the walls hoping she will call me from her sister's house. LOL Unfortunately, her sister's last name is Smith or I would have already called. She will be going to cemeteries, court house, etc. 99% of it is for our family but the information will also be submitted to the Lincoln site in hopes of helping other and it appears to me that I am either closely or remotely related to most of you on this list. LOL Oh yeah, Mike, can you look up a marriage for me: Cleo? to David Muckelroy he was b. in 1885 and died in 1930 if that helps. I am hoping he wed in Lincoln County. Thanks! Any of you have any suggestions or comments, please let me know. Lincoln County is not my site but yours so I listen to you and then trash it, just kidding, LOL :-) I am not having much luck printing out the census, so those of you that have come forward to volunteer, please contact me with how we should handle this, should I send you the CD and then you forward to the next, etc. Or do you want to purchase the 19.95 CD shipping is free for your own use. Let me know what you all think the best solution is. 1. [ARLINCOL] A Cleveland (surname) Family Photo Album
    2. I found an old photo album at an antique store in Vermont and had to buy it because I couldn't bear for it to be thrown away and all of those precious pictures to be lost. The pictures (all those old ones on heavy cards) have no names written on them, but there are a few "In memory of" cards with information on them and some newspaper clippings in the back about a CLEVELAND family. From the information in the album and what I have found in my research so far, Charles A. CLEVELAND was a Civil War veteran from Morristown, Vermont, Pvt. VT Inf 06. He married Louisa Ann HARRIS, daughter of Alfred and Hannah HARRIS of Broome, Canada, on March 28, 1865. They had 11 children who were all still living in 1935: Mrs. Beulah BEARD, Mrs. Evelyn CHARLES, Mrs. Myrtie KIDDER, Miss Mabel CLEVELAND, Mrs. Ethel FOWLER, George CLEVELAND, Fred C. CLEVELAND, Henry H. CLEVELAND, Mrs. Mattie MORES, Mrs. Hattie BAKER, and Elmer CLEVELAND. They moved to Manchester, New Hampshire in 1885 from Hyde Park, Vermont. Charles CLEVELAND (the Civil War veteran) died November 14, 1900. Other names mentioned in the album include: Mrs. Elbridge PEASLEE of Henniker (72), Mrs. Leonard FOOTE of North Weare (49), and Mrs. Raymond THOMPSON (25), mentioned in a 1931 newspaper clipping from Manchester, New Hampshire. Many of the photos in the album were taken by W. R. CALL (913 Elm Street in one and 895 Elm Street in another) in Manchester and Colby 68 Opera Block Hanover Street) in Manchester. Says duplicates of the pictures can be had at any time. I wonder if they meant it ;-) David H. FARNHAM Died Feb. 8, 1890 Aged 69 years, 15 days Francis H. 2. jann woodard
    3. Ark. Gazette, Nov. 17, 1926, Tillar, Nov. 16 - James Hopkins, aged 40, Winchester timberman, was drowned about midnight last night, three miles south of Tillar when an automobile in which he was riding overturned into a ditch and pinned him down in about eight inches of water. The accident occurred on what is known as "Dead Man's Curve." LaFayette McGana, who has only one leg, was driving the car and a negro was riding in the front seat with him. When the car overturned, these two escaped, but Hopkins, who was riding in the rear seat, was caught beneath the wreckage. Passengers on a bus, which passed a few minutes after the accident lifted the wrecked automobile off Hopkins, and efforts were made to revive him. He is survived by his wife, three sisters, Miss Minnie Hopkins and Mrs. J.D. Heflin, Winchester, and Mrs. J.D. Baily, Pine Bluff; and one brother, the Rev. W.T. Hopkins, Methodist pastor of Montrose. Burial will take place at Star City at 1 tomorrow. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! Messenger. http://im.yahoo.com

    2. Jane McBride
    3. Thank you for that list! I find my ancestor listed - the one I am stuck at because I don't know his father's name, where he was born or anything else. It is T.T. Burr (Tapley Thomas Burr) and all I know is he had a sister, Ferba Burr who married Billy DeWeese and that Tap's mother's name was Nancy. I don't know her maiden name. She later married Joel Thomas. Does anyone know where I look to find anything in military records that might list Tapley Thomas Burr's place of birth or parents name? I have the application for pension and it doesn't help. Thanks. 3. I am sending this to Drew, Bradley and Lincoln Co. maillists. Soldiers from all three counties are represented on this list. Drew County Advance July 29, 1915: Two or three weeks ago, Mr. Stan C. Harley, of Arkadelphia, an old Confederate Soldier, furnished the Monticellonian a partial list of names of the members of Capt. Stiles A. Ragland's old Compnay, which served in the civil war from Drew County; and, now come Mr. W.H. Lyle, another old Confederate Veteran from Relf's Bluff, Lincoln county, with a corrected list of Capt. Ragland's Company, and added information. These letters and soldier lists from these old veterans are well worth preserving; and we publish them, with the hope that not only the few old Soldiers now on this side of the great divide will appreciate them, but, also, their children and their children's children. Her follows Mr. Lyle's contribution to this history: "Relf's Bluff, Ark., July 22, 1915, Editor of Monticellonian, Monticello, Ark. I see in your valuable paper of July 15th, 1915, a list of names given by Mr. Stan C. Harley, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, relating to Co. B. 2nd Arkansas Cavalry, in the war of 1861 to 1865, which I see is only partly correct. While I did not serve in the first part of the war, I did in the last two years. My understanding is that Company B was remnants of Companies A.& B, organized by Capt. Street Hudspeth as Captain of Company A and Captain Stiles Ragland as Captain of Company B, of Col. W.F. Slemons' Regiment, who was 3rd Lieutenant at first organization of Ragland's Company, and who later commanded a Brigade, composed of Cols.
