1. [ARLINCOL] Updates
2. I am slowly putting up the Index for 1880 - Owen is done and Kimbrough is in the works, they are both uploaded to the site. Choctaw Township for 1900 is now being worked on by Kathy Baker. Will do look-ups for the 1880 ones I have up already. Kimbrough is predominately black so that may help the ones researching their black ancestors. I hope it does anyway. 1. [ARLINCOL] Updates
2. Another addition to Arkansas Gazette was made by Jan Woodard. It's the very first entry and the guy got what he deserved. Barthalomew Township is complete thanks to Kathy Baker. It's a biggun so let it load. Have added some Monticellonian news articles to the site thanks to Jan Woodard. Will index the Barthalomew Township later today, but as always I recommend that you don't use the search feature for these as your spelling may differ from the census taker and/or the transcriber. I have only had one person to ask me to change something on the census records or add a note. Anyone out there need changes made? Some obits have been added thanks to Peg Reichard, my lovely cousin. Also, information to the resource site has been added as to the holdings of the Star City Library. Thanks to Diann McDaniel, another cousin sorta, LOL I haven't heard much from the list-ers lately, everyone still there? :-) Wendy Gayle Walkup-Barry Lincoln County, Arkansas CC Rogers County, Oklahoma CC OKBITS CO-C Grandma's Shoebox AFHA Board Member Coffey Cousins: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/6233/coffeycousins.html VALENTINE/WATSON/WALKUP GREEN/GREENLEE/LAWSON MUCKLEROY/MULLIKIN MUCKLEROY/WILHITE Genie Angel Looking for your Birth Parents? www.the-seeker.com Full-Time Mom Houston, TX

3. Alberta, I am forwarding this to the Lincoln County list. Someone on it may be able to help you. List - please reply directly to her as she is not a member. Rebecca -----Original Message----- From: alberta <alberta@camasnet.com> To: rdea@seark.net <rdea@seark.net> Date: Saturday, June 17, 2000 11:50 PM Subject: Cemetaries Dear Ms. DeArmond, I have been trying to trace my family history for several years. My great grandfather's last name is Hamilton, and he died in Dumas Arkansas in 1960 or 1961. Our family was buried in a cemetary by a church at the time somewhere around Star City I think. Some of the name that might be on the head stones are: George, Sallie (Sally or Sarah), General or (Gentle), James, William, and a few otheer names. If you could help me in anyway I would greatly appreciate it. Please contact me at alberta@camasnet.com. Thank you, Alberta Marcum

2. NAME: Linda Ragan Giles EMAIL: lgiles@gulftel.com DATE: Jun 13 2000 URL: http:// QRYTEXT: I am hoping to find descendants or siblings descendants of Henry Wilson Copeland and wife Florette Gammill. They were married June 2, 1895 in Lincoln County, AR. ( Book Star City D....page 67) Henry was 33 years of age and Florette was 18. They had a son John H. born August of 1896 and a son Dewey Millar born March 20, 1899. In the Holly Springs Cemetery there are graves for Henry (B) Copeland born 1862;died 1935. Floret (spelling given me from headstone) 6-20-1877...7-23-1902; infant Copeland.b. 6-22-1902...d.8-12-1902. Also in the cemetery is her dad L.C. Gammell (G given as inital on headstone) 5-15-1835....2-16-1886. Florette's sister "Nettie" married Martin Lyle and Henry's sister Virginia married Benjamin Wilkes. In the same area of Lone Pine there was a Fannie Gammell listed as sister-in-law living in the household of Samual Fish and his wife Jennie "Gammell ?". Are there any descendants of any of these people still living in Lincoln County, AR.

1. [ARLINCOL] Texas
2. If you have connections in Texas chances are Rootsweb has something you need. I found my parents' divorce information there from 1969, I never knew what the date was! My parents still lived together is why, LOL. I found my marriage information and my daughter's birth record, she's 4. Go check it out there's a link at the top of the page to go to these records. Also, Peg and I have finished A-C of the cemetery corrections and additions. Due to the size of these files they can no longer be put into neat little tables. Also, Kathy has almost finished Lone Pine Township of the 1900 Census. There is a list on the page for the explanantion of all the columns and what pages the townships are listed. On the Township link is more information. Wordy aren't I?!? As I have said before, I also have the 1880 and the 1910. Will purchase the 1920 soon, anyone need a look-up? I must have the township they were in. According to cousin Diann, Lincoln County Library is working on a site and they have never heard of us! :-( Has anyone tried to go to the other site I spoke of? Star City OnLine Is it just me or can any of you get the sites to work? Does anyone know Don Ellis who is working on that site? I have added the Mind-It program in case I don't get around to telling you what has been updated. This program you can use for any of the pages by using it directly on our site or go to their website and tell them what you what "watched". Looking forward to going back to Tulsa at the end of June or so. Which means, I will probably not have computer access. I will post when I leave so's you'll know. 1. [ARLINCOL] Updates and a Question or 2
2. Resource page has been updated thanks to the lovely Jann Woodard. What is wrong with this site? http://www.starcity-ar.com/ Is it just me, I can't get one link to work. Don't even try to use that e-mail at the bottom you get a nasty message back. I went to Web Works to get Don Ellis' correct e-mail and have not heard from him. Does anyone have an insight on this? 1. [ARLINCOL] Grave Concerns
2. Rebecca
3. Yesterday at the Bradley County Genea. meeting, the subject of cleaning tombstones with Clorox arose. Most of us have done this with the best of intentions, but Clorox should NOT be used on stones - it causes them to deteriorate. The AHPP has a very good book on how to care for stones and cemeteries as well as how to apply to put cemeteries on the National or Arkansas Register of Historic Places. The book may be ordered by sending $5 to: Arkansas Historic Preservation Program 1500 Tower Building 323 Center Street Little Rock, AR 72201 I highly recommend the book. Rebecca
