Murlene did you know that Margaret C. Young younghsv@ipa.net is also researching Ephraim Brown? I noticed this while posting the roll call.
The K's for the cemetery residents has been updated. Two more names were taken off the unknown list: one Kimbrough and a Killingsworth. I am also adding the "Roll Call" at the bottom of the surnames list. I will keep it there until the next roll call is made, these give more details usually than just a surname list. So add yours, just send your names and pertinent details to the list today. On the main page is the Surnames link and next to it is the roll call link. :) Wendy Gayle Walkup-Barry Full-Time Mom, mother of an autistic child < <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~arlincol/index.html"><Lincoln County, Arkansas</A> CC; <<A HREF="http://users.rootsweb.com/~okrogers/"><Rogers County, Oklahoma</A> CC < <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~okbits"><OKBITS</A> CO-C ; <<A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~okbits/shoebox.html"><Grandma's Shoebox</A> Listowner: MUCKLEROY; MULLIKIN; ARLINCOL; OKROGERS; WALKUP http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~coffeycousins/coffeycousins.html Houston, TX VALENTINE/WATSON/WALKUP GREEN/GREENLEE/LAWSON MUCKLEROY/MULLIKIN MUCKLEROY/WILHITE Genie Angel

In reply to Rebecca: Would this be Capt. Avery of Avery Plantation? I am not sure about that. My great-grandfather's name was William Rafe AVERY, b. 8/19/1887 and d. 2/7/1967 in AR. He married Mazie Emma HEFLIN, b. 10/20/1893 in Star City, AR and d. 12/1/1989 in McGehee, AR. Information from my aunt says his father's name was Henry D. AVERY born in 1848 in AR. He married Catherine ? b. 2/5/1865 in MO. They were married in 1874. Children were: Joseph Henry, Mary J., Jesse, Mattie P., John and Tippy. Anything beyond this we are uncertain of. We believe his father to either be Samuel or Avington AVERY. They came here from GA. The census records I looked at looked as though A. AVERY and his family lived with S.F. AVERY and his family (1850 Ouachita Co. AR Census). Then in the 1860 Ouachita Co. AR Census the mother's name is different, however, the children are the same, but there is no A. AVERY listed. Again, it looks as though they live in the same household with S.F. AVERY. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rita Kay Rial HOLTHOFF
I am forever collecting information on the CONRAD families, especially Luvenia and Henry Clay Conrad. I also have a family connection to Adam Kintner Conrad's line out of Indiana; he and some of his family are buried in the Heflin Cemetery, Best Annex. If anyone has a Conrad link, no matter how small, I would very much appreciate the data. Thanks, Jo-Ann Stephens Bahai@netusa1.net

Okay, it's time to do that annoying thing we like to call Roll Call. This is where you put in the surnames and dates of the people you are researching in Lincoln County, Arkansas. If the surname is common first names are good to put in too. Who wants to go first?
Kathy is now transcribing the 1880 Census, so that one is not available for look-ups right now as I don't have the CD. The first portion of Kimbrough is up, the enumerator wasn't always interested in putting the relationships down so it is divided by dwellings. Thanks Kathy! More obits have been added as of last night too. Anyone out there have access and want to transcribe the 1890 Tax List? This would be invaluable to the site as the 1890 Federal Census does not exist. Please let me know via a personal e-mail.
Updated: Obits Lincoln Ledger a new one 1899 Delinquent Tax List Thank yous to Peg and Jann!
Some more additions via Jan Woodard have been added to the Arkansas Gazette and the Monticelloian. These are old articles and if I remember correctly one is of a murder with the surnames of Cameron and Yarborough. In other articles a McPherson was listed and can't remember the other names, sorry. :) Wendy Gayle Walkup-Barry Full-Time Mom, mother of an autistic child <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~arlincol/index.html">Lincoln County, Arkansas</A> CC; <A HREF="http://users.rootsweb.com/~okrogers/">Rogers County, Oklahoma</A> CC <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~okbits">OKBITS</A> CO-C ; <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~okbits/shoebox.html">Grandma's Shoebox</A> Listowner: MUCKLEROY; MULLIKIN; ARLINCOL; OKROGERS; WALKUP http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~coffeycousins/coffeycousins.html Houston, TX VALENTINE/WATSON/WALKUP GREEN/GREENLEE/LAWSON MUCKLEROY/MULLIKIN MUCKLEROY/WILHITE Genie Angel
NAME: Paul Henson EMAIL: pwhensn@bellsouth.net DATE: Oct 21 2000 QRYTEXT: Dolliver HENSON died in Lincoln County at the Cummins State Prison sometime in the late 1920's. Were deaths at the prison officially recognized and if so where could I find the date of death and acquire a death certificate? Dolliver was my uncle and my family is looking for some closure after all these years. Thanks in advance for any information that may be provided.
The 1900 Census is now finished!!! All the thanks goes to Kathy Baker. I will index it tonight to the search feature. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. (Subscription information at the end of this e-mail) Guidelines for posting to the lists: Established 11 October 2000 EMAIL SUBJECT LINES: COUNTY,YEAR,SURNAME NO FLAMING or you will be unsubbed without notice. By this I mean not only being rude or mean to each other but there will be NO and I do mean NO debating here about the Census Projects. This list is for everyone who wants to research. NO General requests such as "all Smiths in all counties" Be specific, Name the County, Family you are looking for and also the year. Try to supply as much info as possible. LIMIT your requests to ONE PER CENSUS YEAR and SURNAME My Mama taught me that Thank you and Please are always nice too :) A few people have emailed me asking how to sign up for the new lists and what to do. - ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. All lists are XX-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L-request@rootsweb.com XX-CENSUS-LOOKUP-D-request@rootsweb.com The XX is to be removed and the two letter abbreviation for the state you are looking in added in its place. Examples: MI-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L-request@rootsweb.com CA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L-request@rootsweb.com IL-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L-request@rootsweb.com 2. So, send an email to the one of your choice (make sure to have the state). Put NOTHING in the subject line. In the body of the email write only: subscribe Then send it on :) 3. POSTING to the new census lists: A. Send it to XX-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com (supply the two letter state code for the XX again) B: Subject line MUST have the following: County/Year/Surname Example: Saginaw/1850/Smith C: In the body of the email: List whom you are looking for. Supply as much information as you can. Birthplace, ages, occupation, etc. D: Mail it on! That's it folks :) I hope that helped. I have put the list of states and two letter codes below for you. AL Alabama AK Alaska AZ Arizona AR Arkansas CA California CO Colorado CT Connecticut DC District Of Columbia DE Delaware FL Florida GA Georgia HI Hawaii ID Idaho IL Illinois IN Indiana IA Iowa KS Kansas KY Kentucky LA Louisiana ME Maine MD Maryland MA Massachusetts MI Michigan MN Minnesota MS Mississippi MO Missouri MT Montana NE Nebraska NV Nevada NH New Hampshire NJ New Jersey NM New Mexico NY New York NC North Carolina ND North Dakota OH Ohio OK Oklahoma OR Oregon PA Pennsylvania RI Rhode Island SC South Carolina SD South Dakota TN Tennessee TX Texas UT Utah VT Vermont VA Virginia WA Washington (state) WV West Virginia WI Wisconsin WY Wyoming
