Wells Bayou is completely transcribed and indexed. Smith is completely transcribed and I am still working on the index. Pictures of Lincoln County have been added.
Are there NOT anyone living in Lincoln Co. that are on line and willing to help other researchers? I know there is or was a Historical Society. Surely, one of you are on line. Diann in Tulsa, OK
Anyone have old photos of Lincoln County? New photos? I would like to put up some pictures of Star City, etc. Does anyone have access to some? Holler at me via personal e-mail if you do. :)

I hope this helps someone that needs older prison records: http://www.state.ar.us/doc/directory.html
Another cousin told me this too..... My parents knew Tebo Cogbill, THe Sheriff of Lincoln County. According to some sources you could smell the mash cooking in a lot of the wooded area around Star City. LOL
Got this one from an eye-witness to the occasions today, won't identify her though, in case someone is offended. When Tebo was the Sheriff he and James Muckleroy would make their own hard liquor from a still. Tebo's wife, forgot to write it down and Olga Scifres Muckleroy, would keep a look out. Seems James (Bailey) and Tebo were thick as thieves, lol. I was told they used to bootleg it. Found that tidbit interesting, thought I would share it, any others out there to contribute? Wendy
I have put in a new search engine at the top of the page. You can search the site or the entire web. I had two search engines before and thought that was unnecessary, had to find the right one to do the job though. The best part is the What's New portion of this "window" you can click on it and it will tell you what has been updated or what is new. This way I don't junk up everyone's email, lol. Happy Holiday Y'all!
HUMOR. Thanks to John Wiley of Marietta, Georgia wileyjohnh@mindspring.com , who says "I wrote this last year when it was cold and slow. As the same conditions exist again, I thought you might want to use it." Indeed, we do. I WANNA KNOW (parody by John H. Wiley (c) 1999) (to the tune of "Let It Snow") The records I'm getting are frightful They could be so delightful And I've no clue where to go I wanna know, I wanna know, I wanna know! I really don't want to be stopping I'd love it if things were popping My enthusiasm's way down low I wanna know, I wanna know, I wanna know! When the pedigree's good and tight I'll be happy, no longer torn If the mailman does me right I'll know just know where Gramps was born. New CDs I'm always buying All the Web sites I keep trying If there's just one sibling to go I wanna know, I wanna know, I wanna know!
Not endorsing this product as I haven't bought anything from them, but the deals look great. http://www.allcensus.com/
Cane Creek 1880 Census is now finished, still working on the index though, my fingers hurt. www.rootsweb.com/~arlincol/census1880.html Thanks Kathy and Stella! More recent obits have been added - Thanks Peg
I am looking for a marriage of a Mrs. Mollie Gifford, she was born in 1884 and her first marriage was in 1902, marriage would be after that or maybe even after 1920. Mollie's maiden name was Mullikin. Do you get obits and on that same page are other obits? I know that when I get a copy of my relations' obituaries, there are several others on the same page. How about posting those, sometime, someone will be grateful you took a little extra time and posted the "extra" ones that you had. Just a thought. Owen for 1880 is fully transcribed and is the first one to have an index to go with it, there are some without a link to it below. The reason is we are debating on what the name really looks like, lol. Should be figured out by tomorrow and the names are listed below only maybe a bit different than the name on the index. Confused? LOL
Choctaw and Auburn for 1880 are completely transcribed now, they are on the index page still, go see: http://www.rootsweb.com/~arlincol/census1880.html

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed their dinner and some of you were probably lucky enough to see family yesterday as well. My husband doesn't like turkey, dressing (really hates it), and yams, etc. So, when I have cooked it in the past, I am pretty much the only one that enjoys it. My son is autistic as you all know and we were seriously debating not going to dinner at all, as he doesn't understand, "sit still and be quiet" like most two year old children don't. My husband, Kevin, even suggested ordering a pizza. LOL I really didn't want my daughter, Kassidy, to go to preschool and tell everyone she had pizza. So we made reservations at a Steak & Ale and it was fabulous! Kassidy had the traditional macaroni & cheese, lol, it's her favorite; we all ate something we liked and there wasn't a mess to clean up. I did tell Kevin that when I mention what we are doing on Thanksgiving, not one person has ever told me they are going out to eat; instead I hear all about their labors of love they are about to partake and the family they will get to be with. So, it's my theory that ALL of those people we saw at the restaurant tell everyone they are cooking! LOL I hope the pilgrims don't mind; I am pretty sure they would do the same thing given the chance. :) I am looking forward to Christmas as we will get to go home to Tulsa, Oklahoma and I will get to see my wonderful yet quirky family. We have most of our shopping done and that's always a plus living in this big city of Houston, Texas. Crowds were already bad 3 weeks before Thanksgiving but I started in January of last year. LOL Do you all have old recipes that date way back? I would love to post these on the site. Plus, it wouldn't hurt if I had some of them myself, lol. Best Wishes to all my Listers!!!! Thanks to Kathy and Stella we have a partial list of the 1890 Tax Roll. It's a partial list, you can only make 10 copies at a time. Thanks to the two of you, I appreciate this very much!
