1. [ARLINCOL] OT - Ancestors....Aliens?
2. WERE YOUR ANCESTORS BEAMED DOWN BY ALIENS? NEW DNA EVIDENCE. Copyright 2000 by Fredric Z. Saunders Scientists at The National Academy for the Study of UFO's have recently confirmed the existence of the "UFO chromosome." While most genealogists are aware of the x chromosome, passed from one female generation to the next, and the y chromosome, from which it is possible to determine descent in an uninterrupted male lineage from a common ancestor, the "UFO chromosome" had previously been only speculation. Working with DNA recovered from the aliens of the Roswell, New Mexico crash, the scientists have discovered the "UFO chromosome" is also present in some humans. This discovery confirms that aliens have been breeding with humans for centuries, and beaming their progeny back to earth. For the "low" price of $10,000, they will test your DNA to see if you possess the "UFO chromosome." While the test will not tell WHICH ancestor had the "UFO chromosome," there are several ways to identify that ancestor. For those ancestors to conceal their identity: 1. They moved every few years, never spending long at one location. 2. They were the only person of that surname in the county. 3. The county clerk who was also an alien, assured that your ancestor's marriage bond would "accidentally" be lost, their deeds set aside and never recorded, and their entire probate file would turn up "missing" even though indexes say it once existed. 4. The census taker would either not list them, OR he would list them twice, with sleight differences, causing quarrels among descendants whether they are the same person or not. 5. The family Bible was sent "west" with the youngest unmarried daughter, where she married a "Mr. Smith." 6. The family cemetery was sold to outsiders, who used the headstones to make a sidewalk. 7. The church they joined did not believe in recording vital statistics. 8. They started rumors of how they were related to someone famous, causing descendants to search the wrong family. 9. They started rumors of how they were born in England, arrived in Virginia with two brothers (one of whom was born in France, the other in Sweden). To conceal their identity, one brother moved to Georgia, the other to Maine, while they remained in Virginia. 10. And, when all else failed and they were about to be discovered, the county court house would "accidentally" burn. If you can prove your ancestor was beamed down by aliens, Halbert's of Bath, Ohio has recently prepared a family history of the Alien family, complete with the Alien coat of arms, which you will be proud to display over your fireplace.

1. [ARLINCOL] Some Interesting Gen. Info
2. Information taken from another newsletter. Thought it might help someone. Research Tip: Immigrant Aid Societies The United States is a nation of immigrants, and for centuries people have wanted to leave their native homes to find a new life in the New World. Problem is, some of them couldn't afford to pay their own passage. Some signed a contract for indentured servitude, others borrowed the money from relatives, and some even relied on their own local governments to pay their way out of town and on to another continent. But there were also people in the United States who were willing to loan money so that family members, friends, and even strangers could join them in the U.S. Especially in the nineteenth century it was common for such people to band together to form benevolent societies specifically to establish funds that would be used to pay for immigrants' passage. Those immigrants would repay their loans to the fund, and that money would be loaned to other immigrants. These revolving funds were usually built around ethnic or religious groups. Among the more well-known were the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (for Jews) and the Perpetual Emigration Fund (for Latter-day Saints), but many churches and communities formed similar societies to aid those who wanted to come to the United States, but who lacked sufficient funds to do so. The records of these immigrant aid societies can be a great help to family historians. The ledgers of loans should include the names of the recipients and their residences. As the immigrant arrived and paid off the loan the ledgers should reveal where he or she entered the country, where he or she resided, and what occupation(s) were pursued. If you're having difficulty tracing an immigrant's passage to America, consider the records of immigrant aid societies. They can be just as helpful to you today as they were for your ancestors a century and more ago. 1. [ARLINCOL] Bartholomew's Song: A Bayou History
2. Rebecca
3. Is now available. The book is 645 pages long and contains 94 historic photographs. Part I is the history of the entire length of the bayou in southeast AR and northeast LA. Part II is the family histories of people interviewed and additonal ones submitted by others. Of particular interest to genealogists is the EVERYNAME INDEX which contains over 2400 surnames. To view the index, go to www.seark.net/~rdea/bayou/ and click on Name Index. It is arranged so that you can click on the alphabet letter of the surname you wish to see. Everyone needs to check the index even if they think their families didn't live near the bayou. The genealogies are not restricted to that area; they spread far back in time and come forward to the present in many diverse places. Community histories for Lincoln County in the book are: Tarry, Yorktown, Crigler, Meroney, Fresno, Persons Bridge, Todd, Star City, Rose Hill, Batchelor Bridge, Avery, Wells Bayou, Garrett Bridge, Greenmount, Tyro, and Gourd. Contact the author for more information: Rebecca DeArmond-Huskey at rdea@seark.net My other book sites are: www.seark.net/~rdea/ Old Times Not Forgotten: A History of Drew County It has a surname index. www.seark.net/~history/ Beyond Bartholomew: The Portland Area History It has a surname index. From: lagsanchez@hotmail.com To: wendygayle@aol.com Sent from the Internet (Details) Wendy, My name is Linda Grady Cahill. I have been searching for information on my paternal grandfather's family for about five years. The only information I have is that my grandfather, Wiley Edward Grady, was born in Little Rock, Ark. in 1878. His father's first name was John and his mother's maiden name was Petley. This information I obtained from my grandfather's death certificate. The only other thing I have is a letter written from my grandfather's brother, CW Grady, in 1914. At that time he lived in Pine Bluff, Ark. I was looking on the internet and found that there was a town by the name of Grady in your county, so I thought maybe if I could find some information about the town and why it was named Grady that would give me some kind of lead. If you know of any families by this name in the area I would appreciate that information also. My e-mail address is lagsanchez@hotmail.com. Thank you in advance for any information or ideas of where I might look, Linda Grady Cahill
