Christopher C. Ray was born in Kentucky in 1837. He enlisted in Co. B, Col. Dobbins' 1st Arkansas Cavalry at Madison, Ark. He was detached as a blacksmith by order of Col. Dobbins May 1, 1863. Dobbins Unit was broken up in January of 1864 and Pvt. Ray was sent to Morgan's 2nd Arkansas Cavalry. He was in Marianna, Lee County, in 1867, where my Grandmother was born, Emma Martha Ray. (We do not know who her mother was.) He appears again in Boone County, Arkansas, in 1874 where he married Elizabeth C. Snow and Margaret A.M. Rogers in 1876. He was acting as a Justice of The Peace in 1890 and died August 6, 1906, in Boone County. (CFA Pension Records) Can anyone in Lee County tell me anything about this man? Hugh Jefferson Dallas, Texas
