Steve Hollowell, Executive Assistant for the Commissioner of State Lands, will be guest speaker at the Tri-County Genealogical Society meeting this coming Sunday, November 11. Mr. Hollowell joined the Land Office in 1985 and is charged with the day to day operation of the office. He is actively involved with the Advisory Council of that office which reviews legislation, procedures and regulations that affect cities and counties throughout the state. Mr. Hollowell is originally from Heber Springs and graduated from the University of Arkansas . He is a charter member of the Cleburne County Historical Society, and past president of the Arkansas Chapter of the American Society of Public Administration. He is well versed on topics of interest to genealogists including Homestead and other Land Grant information, Original Plats and Field Notes, and the Original Survey of Arkansas. His program promises to be one of interest to historians and genealogy buffs from this area. The program will be at the genealogy library in Marvell. There will be a short business session at 2 p.m., followed by Mr. Hollowell's program. Following the meeting will be a time of fellowship and refreshments. The public is invited.
