My great great grandmother was Francis Emily Edwards Bates that lived in AR, my great grandmother was born in 1874 in Batesville. They came from TN or possible AL. Her husband was Crawford Bates, I do not know who her parents or his parents were, neither do I know their sibs. I haave a list of Crawford and Fanny's children and they did have a Jim or a James. I have a copy of a paten where the state of Ar deeded her the homestead after Crawfords death in 1882. At that time they were living in Dardanelle, AR.
