Susan, I've just returned from Lee County and you are correct, the marriage records offer no info other than the names and ages of the bride and groom other than the justice of the peace or minister who performed the ceremony. There is a lady who lives in Helena (Phillips County) that is a gold mine of info for those of us looking for ancestors in the Phillips/Lee County area. Her name is Wanda Ridge. Wanda's email is WRidge @hnb.net. She is a member of the Tri-County GEnealogy Society and is usually happy to do lookups for others. Contact her and see if she can find anything for you. I have several of their books but don't happen to have access to the census you mention. I am trying to find an Emma MASTERSON. She would be 20 or 21 years old going by her marriage age in 1902. I would love to find where she was born. I am hoping it was Missouri. Emma was married 25 December 1902 in Marianna, Lee County, Arkansas. With my luck, the marriage books do not give place of birth or even parents names since she would be 20 or 21. The marriage book is Book F, page 355. Emma married William Mitchell JONES of Marianna. He was 27 and Emma was 23. Thanks for any help you can give. I do not need the image as I can get that from Ancestry but I would like to know County, Town, ED # and page so I can find the image.
