    1. [ARLEE] Tri-County Genealogical Meeting
    2. WRidge
    3. Greetings, This is your invitation to attend the monthly meeting of Tri-County Genealogical Society, which will be Sunday, January 13 at 2 p.m. at the genealogy library in Marvell. Membership is $15 a year, $20 for a family, and entitles a member to three journals a year and unlimited queries in the journal. We have a dedicated staff of volunteer workers who open the library on Sunday afternoons from 2 - 5, and on Thursday afternoons from 1 - 4 and are available for research assistance to members and guests on those afternoons. We provide as much assistance to non-resident members as we can reasonably do so. If you have ancestors in the Phillips-Lee-Monroe county area and cannot attend the meetings, we urge you to join the Society and let us work with you through our organization. The library is located on the corner of Midway and Carruth Streets, Marvell, Arkansas. Address is P. O. Box 480, Marvell, AR 72366. Please reply to this e-mail with name and address if you wish to be mailed a brochure.

The only McDonalds that I ever knew who lived in Marianna were Darrell and Bonnie Ripper McDonald. They had children named Larry Dale, Brenda, Johnny, and Ronnie. Larry would be about 50 now. Different McDonalds, I guess.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jV.2ADE/35.2 Message Board Post: Tom Moon was claimed by relatives and buried. I cannot remember the name of the town, but it was in Ar. The Courier Index ran an article about it and should have it in it's archives. I remember Tom Moon quite well. His body was in a wooden cabinet with a glass window in it at Brown's Funeral Home out back in a garage or storage building. I grew up on Cedar St. and we ( the neighborhood children) would go down to Brown's on Chestnut St. and view Tom every once in a while when we were bored in the summer time. I don't know of his body ever being at Flower's or Hodge's.

    1. [ARLEE] Phone number needed
    2. Susan Jones
    3. Hi List, I tried to call the phone number for Lee County Vital Records to get a birth certificate. The information I got from Vitalrec.com was: Lee County Vital Records Office County Courthouse 15 East Chestnut Marianna, AR 72360-2302 (501) 295-7715 When I called that number, I received a recording telling me that was an incorrect number. I am in need of a birth certificate from Marianna City possibly Independence, Ark. for 1905. If someone can provide a correct number or possibly get the document for me, it would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to get the document for a William Carthel JONES, parents were William Mitchell JONES and Emma J. MASTERSON. William may also be known only as Carthel Jones born 13 Nov. 1905. The birth may have been a delayed birth and signed by a Mr. or Mrs. Elmo HUDSON. I am trying to verify the name of the mother. It is very important. The relationship is uncle. He was father's brother. Thanks for any help you can give. I stated the town of Independence in the City of Marianna as that is where grandfather was born in 1904. I have my father's birth certificate so I know they are available. Sue Jones macduff@infi.net

    1. [ARLEE] Fever Epidemic early 1900's
    2. Does anyone know anything about a fever epidemic sometime in the early 1900's around Marianna? We lost several family members due to this fever. Also, is there someone on the list who might have cemetery transcriptions for the Marianna area? I am looking for a Hester Click, Howard Click, Sarah Click, and possibly a newborn that died the same time. They probably died sometime around 1905/1907, but don't know for sure. Any help greatly appreciated. Carolyn
