Nancy, Thanks to your research and in making available records online, (and Jeri Fultz also) I have some infomation on my AGEE and McLAIN line that settled in LCo. in the 1840s. The Loose Probate Papers (by Marion Stark Craig, MD) which showed the estate of Charles McLAIN, with his son John Henry as administrator, etc. deal with my great-great-great grandfather's family--Charles McLAIN, born about 1804/05, in NC I think---and a wife Perlina and children---Christianna, David, John Henry and Esquire-- or Squire--that show up on the 1850 census in Strawbury township. And later Charles and Perlina had a son, William California McLAIN--1853--in Lawrence Co. I think there might have been other children between the 1842 birth of Esquire in TN and the 1853 birth of Squire in AR. It's been awhile, but maybe you recall seeing my line published here---John Henry McLAIN (b about 1837 TN) married Sarah Catherine AGEE, born about 1842 TN. (my great-grandfather was one of their children--William David McLAIN, b 1859--marrried Cordelia MOSIER in Lawrence Co, 1878--she died in 1897 and he married Clara COOPER, born 1878, Monroe Co. Other surnames have turned up on census rolls, thanks to your leads---now I know MOSIER, FLETCHER, SMITH, HARDIN, FRY, MULLEN, MEAD, RILEY----and I'm sure there are more.. . . . My Question to you: Are you related to my Sarah Catherine AGEE----or her line? So far, it's been a dead end line---I'm not sure of her parentage .. . .or other family, etc. I also am working with several other people right now, trying to find some links with their McLAIN line, so anything will help. It is thought that my McLAINs / McCLAINs came from NC > thru KY > Gallatin, IL> to Weakley County (maybe Henry Co) Tennessee before some migrated to ARK., settling in several East Arkansas counties. My line seems to have settled in Lawrence Co, Randolph Co, ---Cache twp, Craighead, Bay Siding, Walnut Ridge area----and Jackson County---with others going to other nearby counties. Thanks for any help or comments . . . .
