Carol, I know nothing about Adeline Tennyson, however I wanted to let you & the list know that at http://www.familysearch.org/ the Family History site, they now have the 1880 census on line. It is an every name index (doesn't mean you will find everyone, some census are very hard to read & transcribers did the best they could). I did not find her listed but she may be listed under a nick name. If you have found her on a later census than 1880, it should say where her parents were born which gives you additional clues. It might be helpful if you post to the list any information you have at all about her & her husbands. ie where was James born, what year they married, when she died & where she is buried. These may help you get the answer you are looking for. If you know the names of her children may also help. There are people on the list who are willing to try to help so the more info you put in your post the better chance someone can help. Good Luck Barbara
