    1. [ARLAWREN] Library in Black Rock( Obit of Laura Risenhoover)
    2. Hello List- I am wondering what library, miight hold the old microfims of the areas newspers of Black Rock. I have a ancestor named Lauara Risenhoover, that I hope to find a obit about.. I had looked on the Random Acts of genealogical Kindness and found a volunteer for Lawrence county but after I wrote her Email address bounced. would love for someone who lives close to a library or a respository to help with my lookup. Laua Risenhoovers husband was named Bernard, they had one son, named J M Risenhoover, would love to find out when he died, also when Bernard and Lara Risenhoover married, perhaps that information might be in that obit. Thanks for anyones help. Melodee Slaney melnsam123@aol.com

    3. Melodee, What time frame do you need. The only groom I found in the marriage index was: A.J. Risenhoover (22) married Laura Crider (21) on 6 July 1919 in book F-370. The Times Dispatch in Walnut Ridge only goes back to 1957. Depending on the year, it might also be in the Pocahontas newspaper. I will be glad to try and help. 1. [ARLAWREN] Townsend/Bryant Family

    3. I am passing along a query from Kristen West kristen@westweb1.net. She is not part of the list, so if anyone can help her, please contact her at her e-mail address. -- Original Message -- I've been searching for information on your website about the Townsend/Bryant family. Oddly enough, they are not relatives; they are who built and owned our house for 80 years or so. I found on the Law. Co historical society page W.A. Townsend mentioned, but only in passing. I'm truly searching for pictures of our house and some info on Judge Townsend, so we can complete the DOE for the first step in being listed on the National Register. I contacted Mrs. Flippo and searched the Powhatan Courthouse. There, I found a book that had quite a bit of info about William A. Townsend...it even said "he moved to Walnut Ridge and built a beautiful home there"! So I was thrilled that our house was mentioned in this book (I believe it was written by Walter E. McLeod). Anyway, if you know of someone who would have any old pictures of homes in Walnut Ridge, I would hope they would have at least one of our house! :-) Any help is appreciated. Thank you, Kristen West kristen@westweb1.net
