William STREET married Mary Ann GILLESPIE in 1857 in Lawrence Co. He served the Confederacy in the 34th Regiment of the Arkansas Infantry. I believe he must have died during the war but have no proof. Where could I find out this information? Thanks Jackie

Jackie, I would start at the Arkansas History Commission in Little Rock. They hold the confederate records. I have found them very helpful and I believe they will be able to answer your question. If not, I'll bet they will know where to direct you next. By the way, we have "talked" in past years because I am a Gillespie and am related to many of the Gillespies in Lawrence Co. as well as McCalls, McMillens, Busters and Fowlers but so far, we can't connect to Reuben Gillespie.
