    3. Hi Lanita, Honey, You need to spend some time in Lawrence Co.! HA I didn't find a thing in the marriages 1821 through 1920. I did find an Emmett R., Justus, George W. and James H. Justus in Bk two and some in Bk three. This stuff is on the Lawrence Co. site of Bill Couch's. http://www.couchgenweb.com/lawrence/ I have some links to the 1815-1816 Tax lists for Arkansas Territory. and they were not listed there on those dates. BUT I did check this link I have on my Lawrence Co. lookups site. http://home.earthlink.net/~jerifultz/lawlinks.html http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ar/state/history/terr/terr3.txt Arkansas Territorial Records Territorial Papers - Arkansas 1819- 1825; Part Seven, "Executive Register for the Arkansas Territory, 1819-1836. Submitted by Jerry Morrison, March 1999 --APPLIES TO MANY COUNTIES IN ARKANSAS The following was transcribed from the U.S. Government publication, Territorial Papers - Arkansas 1819-1825" pages 789-874, Part Seven, "Executive Register for the Arkansas Territory, 1819-1836". There are many errors in spelling that I noticed as I was transcribing, except in the most extreme cases, I saved the spelling printed in the book as best I could, keeping in mind that the original transcription was from handwritten documents. If at first, you don't find who you are looking for, use the phonetic method so phamilur to genealogist's. This section contains the Surnames starting with I thru M. 1827 Oct 15 Justice, Amos Lawrence-Davidson Magistrate 1827 Jun 7 Justice Sr., Amos Lawrence-Davidson Magistrate INDEX - A Through L - 1815-1835 - PROBATE - GUARDIANSHIPS - NO BONDS FOUND With each name is the numbered paragraph(s) in which the name appears in this compilation JUSTICE, Amos - 76, 77 76. JUSTICE, Amos, deceased. Bond of Charles HATCHER, administrator, March 10, 1829. Securities: Thomas Y. CRABTREE, Thornas MAXWELL. Witness: J.M. KUYKENDALL, deputy clerk. (Here we see the Sheriff, James M. KUYKENDALL, acting as a deputy clerk of Lawrence County. The law did not then forbid a person from simultaneously occupying several official positions in a county). 77. JUSTICE, Amos, deceased. Bond of John D. JUSTICE, executor of will, May 7, 1829. Securities: William JARRETT, George D. HARRIS. (Apparently, it was first thought by the Court that this was an intestate estate, but then a will was found and accepted. See no. 76 above). JUSTICE John D. - 77, 208 see above There was a Margaret Justice and a John D. Justuce listed in the 1830 Lawrence Co. Census. Page 13 Arkansas Territory. John D. Justuce 0 males) - 1 (20/40) - - females 3 (0/20) - 1 (20/40) - Margaret Justice l male 0/20- 1 female 40 plus I did find a listing in the "Lawrence Co., AR Loose Probate Papers 1915-1890, by Marion Strark Craig, MD" Justice, Amos papers are in folder of Morgan Hatcher. d,. - date not included. Adm'r: 13 March 1829, Charles Hatcher appt'd. I checked Morgan Hatcher on page 60 and it states that papers of Amos Justice here also. At least you know they were in Lawrence Co. early on. This makes pretty good documentation. Only God knows where they were married, but it was before 1821. :-) Hope this helps some. It should. Jeri
