Judy, Hopefully a probate record will include documents such as the will that contain the names of the spouse and the names of the children. In a lot of cases, if the daughter is married, it will include her married name. If the deceased owned land, there should be a legal description of that land. There might be an inventory of the personal property and how it is distributed. It can help identify additional family members or an occupation. It can help pinpoint the death date of an individual. I highly recommend having a look at the probate books.
