    1. [ARLAWREN] Houston Clark
    2. Ronnie Richardson
    3. Hi, I've got some questions: I am researching William Houston Clark who moved to Arkansas around 1909. I have a census record for him showing he was in Jackson County with his wife Clara and children, Lenora, Murray, Lacy and Virginia. He also died in Black Rock, Arkansas on January 11, 1913. His body was brought back to Alabama on the Southern Railroad. I am trying to find out why he moved there and what he done while he was there. I know his youngest child was born in 1910, Feb. 14. How can I find a newspaper article about that or any other information. What newspaper would I find Houston Clark's obit in if he died in 1913 in Black Rock Arkansas. Was there a hospital near there? Does anyone know where the Railroad would have picked up his body? Any help would be very much appreciated. Also, what was in this part of Arkansas to draw him from Alabama in 1909? Thanks a bunch, Leann Richardson

    1. [ARLAWREN] Adeline Talitha Tennyson
    2. Ray & Barbara Aston
    3. Carol, I know nothing about Adeline Tennyson, however I wanted to let you & the list know that at http://www.familysearch.org/ the Family History site, they now have the 1880 census on line. It is an every name index (doesn't mean you will find everyone, some census are very hard to read & transcribers did the best they could). I did not find her listed but she may be listed under a nick name. If you have found her on a later census than 1880, it should say where her parents were born which gives you additional clues. It might be helpful if you post to the list any information you have at all about her & her husbands. ie where was James born, what year they married, when she died & where she is buried. These may help you get the answer you are looking for. If you know the names of her children may also help. There are people on the list who are willing to try to help so the more info you put in your post the better chance someone can help. Good Luck Barbara

    1. [ARLAWREN] World War I death
    2. Mike Landwehr
    3. Hi, I'm looking for information about the death and burial of John O. HALL. John was the son of Joseph C. Hall. John was born in Missouri in 1892. His family (the Joseph C. Hall family) lived in Walnut Ridge from the early 1900's until at least the 1930's. John O. Hall was married in Lawrence County in December of 1917 to Audrey Smith (thanks, Nancy!). John enlisted, or was drafted, in World War I, and died in France. I assume his death occured in 1918. Does anyone on the list know of any resources that would be helpful in locating John O. Hall's date of death, and/or place of burial? Thanks, Mike Landwehr

    3. Hi. In the 1910 census, Joseph C. Hall is listed as "Farmer, Gen Farmer", but this is written over something else that I can't read, but it looks like chipper, and building??. In the 1920 census, Joe C. Hall is listed as Sheriff of Lawrence County. In 1930, Joseph C. Hall is listed as proprietor, furniture store. I can only gather by this that he would have been sheriff sometime between 1911-1929. Sorry I'm not much help, but at least the 1920 census confirms it.
