C. and 1 says N.C . by 1818 he was in Lawrence co ala where he married Milla Barton,dau of Moses and Fannie Barton . the only Raines i found in lawrence co on the 1820 census was William Raines so James must have left there bt 1818-1820 have not found him on 1820 census in ala yet but he was in walker co by 1830. his brother Robert Born 1786 was with him and they both remained in walker co the rest of their lives. James and Millas children [born bt 1819-1841 in ala] were: William Bailey married Elizabeth Kennymore/Kennamor? Francis married Byrd Cole Hiram married#1 Phebe ? #2 Aseneth Adeline Abbott James married Sarah Best[after his death she married Wm Ford] Rebecca married Isiah Williams Margaret Ann [Peggy] married Wm. Washington Abbott Massa J.[no records found on her after 1860] Milla [no records found on her after 1860 [would like to know who they married] Milla died in 1843 and is buried in the Sardis cem James remarried in the 1850s to Susan? their children were Lucinda married William Best Sinthia Married robert Williams Sylvania[do not know who she married] on the 1860 census there is a son ,, listed age 15 John .but i believe this was the son of Susan by a previous marraige as she and James was not together on the 1850 bensus and he was born 1845 the last record i found on James is the 1870 census age 79 i have not found any of the Raines children and their spouses in walker co after 1870 except Hiram-Rebecca and Francis Susan was 47 in 1870 what happened to her after James died? Hiram and Phebe had 2 sons James and George i found them in 1860 but never again does anyone have info on them? james married Lottie?
