Dolores, I am very interested in following the Redden family back to eastern US. My great grandfather was Joseph Redding Jones. He did not tell us where in North Carolina he grew up nor did he tell us the names of his parents or siblings. We did learn that he and his friend killed a man in Mississippi and they fled to "No Man's Land", Imperial Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, about 1875. I'm hoping that either Redden or Redding is his mother's surname or someone important to their family. Can you help me trace your Redden line back to the Jones' of North Carolina?
