Dear Sir: Will you kindly let me know if you have any record of an old Confederate Solider named Frank Sweatt? My father, A W Sweatt, has a brother by that name somewhere, if not dead, and when last heard from just after the war, was in this state near Fort Smith and my father is now 71 years old and would like to locate his brother if possible. We have made inquiries in a number of states but have failed to locate him. As a son of one who fought for the grand old South, I assure you that I would be glad to have you service in trying to locate this lost brother and if possible bring them to a happy reunion before death shall call them to their reward. I will be glad to reward you for any and all services that you will render on this behalf.
