Hello fellow listers, At long last I can contribute something to this list. I have just received the Index for the AR. Confederate Pension Applications. If anyone has a Confederate Veteran in their family, I should be able to find their Company, when & where they applied, their date of death & their widow. If anyone needs a look-up please feel free to ask. It's about time I repaid some passed debts. Richard Moore Researching: Moore, Martin, Cogbill, Norwood, Newby, Bostian & Evans.

Conway County Photos Through their devotion to the preservation of the History of Conway County, the Conway County Genealogical Association requests your help. In an effort to help preserve the memory of the residents of Conway County, the CCGA are requesting scanned photos whose identities may be unknown or of loved ones whose memory we hold dear. The main idea is to create a book that may be displayed at the annual Ancestry Fair held in Conway County. Please include the name, if known and the date on the submission of your photos. The photos will be placed on the CCGA website as time and space permits for those whose identities in photos are unknown. The CCGA will also be making an effort to display the unknown photos in the monthly newsletter. Through our efforts and dedication to Genealogy, this is the perfect opportunity to aid in the restoration of memories and faces that have been lost. Photos should have a link to Conway County. For further information or submission of scanned photos pl! ease submit to [email protected] .
Hi folks! I have a book - Shortline Railroads of Arkansas - by Clifton E. Hull. I will do lookups in the index for places or names. Please send the request to ME, not to the list. And then, if it's okay with the listowners (please let me know), I will respond to the list with the answer. Please also change the subject and put the word 'REQUEST' in it. I am on TONS of mailing lists and I delete quite a bit of mail. I may delete your mail if you don't change the subject line. For any railroad buffs, the book is very interesting and very well-written. Unfortunately, my railroading ancestor is no where to be found in its pages. Hi All, I'm hoping to locate others who may be researching or have the information on Ira G. Fletcher. Ira was born in 1822 in KY. He was married to Rachel FEWELL. Ira was found living in Henry County, MO in 1850 and 1860. I have been unable to locate him on the 1870 census, but believe that he may be living in Ark. by 1870. any information appreciated, Linda

Hello Need a friendly helping hand and hoping this next week, that somebody who is researching in the Court House or Libraries in or near Pine Bluff Arkansas, might just give me some help. My grandfather, Martie W. Caves, wrote that he was born in Pine Bluff Arkansas, on April 18, 1890. I would like to see if this is correct, and would pay for a copy of the birth certificate, plus a bit extra if somebody might be there looking for something else. Any of the Cave (without the S) individuals that might have been born in the Pine Bluff area around the late 1800's would be of interest, as well as any older ones. The family name changed from Cave to Caves with my grandfather's generation. I would gladly be of any help I can, to anyone searching in the area I am at, which is Central Illinois. Thomas W. This is a good place to do random searches for your surname....looks as if all National cemeteries and many others are indexed here. Disclaimer: I don't even know who owns the site and have no connection with it. Jim Savage Christmas begins it and Easter completes it

Hello Interested in anyone who has information or has researched the Pine Bluff area of Arkansas circa 1890. I'm looking for a mysterious and very elusive family. My grandfather, Martie W. Caves recorded on his marriage license, that he was born in Pine Bluff Arkansas on April 18, 1890, to Merrit Cave, and Jennie Swisher. I have been unsuccessful to date on finding anything of his family, siblings, and don't know if this information is correct. So if you happen to be close to their, and well, have a chance to take a peak for me, I'd greatly appreciate the helping hand. My mother, now 82 would greatly like to know something about her ancestry, as would I. Thomas W. Rogers
