    1. [ARKANSAS] MULTI-Question / Where is Grant Township/Ar.
    2. I have found my Grgrandpa and grgrandma on the 1880 census in Grant Township. Is that in Grant Co?? Also is there a way to get something to show that the grgrandmother who is shown in the census died in Oct-Nov-Dec 1886. As there is no Death index for 1889.Her name is Adeline SYKES was a SWADER before marriage between 1870-1880. I havent been able to get or find any info on the James L. SYKES and her together other than the census for 1880. She was born in (according to census) Arkansas abt 1852. Her first child(according to census ) was born Emma , in abt 1875 in Ar.2nd child born, James abt. 5 months before census. Where can I be directed to find any of the things I need for them.. Like dod, dob, dom, etc. ~Sandra DeHart~ Shawnee,Ok [email protected] or [email protected]

    1. [ARKANSAS] Arkansas Confederate pension?
    2. Mike Landwehr
    3. Hi, I'm researching Levi A. Hall (who often went by L. A. Hall). Levi A. Hall lived in northern Randolph County (west of Elm Store) from around 1881 until his death about 1904. During the Civil War, Levi A. Hall served in the 3rd Missouri Cavalry (Confederate). As a Confederate Civil War veteran living in Arkansas, he may have been eligible for an Arkansas Confederate Civil War pension. Does anyone on this list have access to the list of applications for Confederate Civil War pensions from Randolph County, Arkansas? I would dearly love to know whether Levi A. Hall (or L. A. Hall) applied for, or received, an Arkansas Civil War pension. By the way, Levi A. Hall's wife, Sarah Ann Hall, died about two years before Levi, so there would not have been an application for a widow's pension (if Arkansas granted pensions to Confederate widows). Thanks so much, Mike Landwehr

    2. Answer for Delores on the big flood: The Great Flood of 1927 devastated huge areas along the Mississippi River and rivers that flow into it. Many counties in Ark, Tenn and Ms were hit hard, with tens of thousands of people forced out of their homes. Try the internet for more info. Also, there is a book on it. Bill Brown in Dallas

    3. Mountain Wave newspaper reported in the CLINTON JOURNAL 5 Oct 1905 Accidentally Killed Probably the saddiest death ever in Van Buren County occured two miles south of Settlement yesterday morning. As we heard it, LALIE, the ten-year old daughter of Dr.F.M. CLARK, of Lexington, and her mother, were visiting at MATHIS BRADFORD'S. She and her seven year old cousin,ROY BRADFORD, were playing with a target rifle; she was standing on the second stair step when ROY thought of the shotgun and undertook to pull it from under the bed, when it discharged and blew the top of LALIE'S head off.
