Horton was the son of Hardy Horton (1794-1866) and Mary Polly Baker (179? - 1870). They were from Kershaw Co. SC. Hardy and family moved to Shelby Co. AL in 1834. Henry married Sarah Ann Seale there. Around 1877, Henry and Sarah moved to Pope / Johnson Co. ARK. Henry did not have brothers named James or Edmond.
