SAMUEL WASHINGTON DUNNING, b. abt. 1833 in TN, married Mrs. Susan Elizabeth (Satterwhite) Edwards in Columbia Co., AR 10 Jan 1858. Civil War - He enlisted May 1862 at Sulphur Springs, AR. Age 28. Captured 4 Jul 1863 at Helena, AR & sent to MP Alton, IL then to Rock Island, IL 9 Jul 1863. The family migrated to TX abt. 1866 where he lived until his death in 1909. He is buried in the State of Texas Cemetery in Austin in the Confederate Soldier section. The John Dunning family is found in the 1850 AR Census in Johnson Co., they are probable related in some way.
