Assuming that Evans is a married name? But the comment about not knowing the husband's name leaves the possibility that you are giving her maiden name, in which case the census search is irrelevant. But to give it a shot - There are the following "Evans" females in an electronic index for Johnson Co., 1910. Evans, Jane, age 70, W, b. Indiana Evans, Laura B., age 15, W, b. Oklahoma Evans, Marget M., age 60, W, b. Mississippi The spelling "Evan" gets no hits in Johnson County. In Franklin Co. there are: Evans, Lonina C., 49, W, b. Alabama Evans, Tabitha, 77, W, b. Illinois There are 14 females with first name "Tillie", but none "Evans", and none lived in Johnson, Franklin, or Pope counties. There are two "Tillie M." , one only 4, the other last name Dunn, aged 24, b. Arkansas, living in Sebastian Co. There are few official death records for that period (they started in 1914, but at the beginning only applied if you died in a hospital, from a crime, or if there was an estate to manage). There is a published index, but I don't have a copy of it at hand. You would need to visit the Arkansas History Commission in Little Rock to find copies of Johnson County newspapers from that period.
