This led me to do just a bit of research to understand the circumstances and time of my family's arrival in AR. Mark Hill (1790-1878) married Rachel Fry (abt 1795-abt 1845) . One child was John F. Hill (Abt 1820-Feb 1882). He had two wives, Hanna Bradshaw, Emeline Cruthers Grey according to a family history filed at the AR History Commission research room. There were two sons by the first wife. This book follows the family of another son, Kimbrel Claude Hill, whose family went to Oklahoma City. The 1880 census shows a John F. Hill age 57 with a wife Mary T., son John R. age 24. His age is not a perfect match, but parents birthplaces match. Sorry I don't have the marriages book.... If this is a connection, I have a few pages of this family history and Mark's service roster. His family is also mentioned in Ella Molloy's book on Johnson Co., as well as Goodspeed. A son Marcus was a noted resident after the War Between the States.
