I heard that Sarah and John's father was Cherokee and that he married a white woman. I do know that Sarah said that the last image she had of her father was his long black hair as he had a rope around his neck and was dragged from the house never to been seen again. Family lore has it that he was killed by bushwhackers or Jayhawkers.The family says he was hung. I have yet to find any account of it.I wish I knew where it happened Gina
