Recently, on the 1900 census of Williams TWP, Stone County, Missouri, I came across a John R. Stewart, and Manerva Hendrickson listed as such: 1900 US Federal Census Page 272 Stone Co., MO ED 126 Sheet 11B Williams TWP 14 Jan 1900, by David McCullough Dwelling 201-201 John R. Stewart, 50, b. Okay, so I went back to 1850 Alabama, and I found this family in Cherokee County, Alabama. They were the only family of a John Stewart, who was born in Alabama, in 1850, whose parents were both born in TN: 1850 Cherokee County, AL Page 113 District 6 28 Oct 1850, by F.H. AL By 1860, Robert had moved to Shoal Creek, Arkansas: Page 135 Dwelling 930-930 Robert Stewart, 37, b. TN Barbara, 34, b. TN Mary Ann, 15, b. GA Sarah, 14, b. GA Martha, 12, b. AL John, 10, b. AL Nancy, 8, b. AL Letitia, 6, b. AL Ellen, 4, b. AL William, 1, b. Arkansas Robert must have died in Johnson County some time in the next ten years because Barbara is listed without him in the 1870 Johnson County, Census. Dwelling 173-165 Barkery Stewart, 44, b. TN (name written this way) Nancy J.D., 18 Ellender A., 14 William, 12 Andrew J., 9 I lose the trail of this family in 1880, John is not among the Stewart family in 1870, and I lose track of him until he shows up in Stone County, MO. . I feel strongly that this Robert and Barbara could be this John Stewarts parents. Can anybody confirm this? Many thanks. Oh btw, the 1910 census did confirm that Manerva Jane Hendrickson was John's second wife. Brenda C. Scottsburg, Indiana
