According to information I have found recently on the Ancestry.com website, my great grandfather, Robert Fynes, died in Henrietta, Okmulgee Co., Oklahoma in 1936. Could anyone out there suggest where I should apply for a copy of his death certificate and which cemetery he may be buried in. I am also interested to trace similar information for his wife, Louisa nee Ross, who died in 1957 Best wishes Geoff Fynes Sandhurst, Gloucester, UK
Hi Geoff, Here in the states you have to apply for a copy of a death certificate usually through the state vital records department. I am sending you a link that you can order a Oklahoma Death Certificate on line. http://www.deathcertificatesusa.com/state/dc_oklahoma.html I also found this other site: http://www.vitalchek.com/provider_overview.asp?provider_id=90094 I hope that helps. I don't live in Oklahoma, but I found these links. If this doesn't work, let me know and I will see what else you can do to get a copy.
