Williams- You know he's a Williams family member, weather some of the family likes it or not. I think he deserves to be recognized as such. Many people do not include him in their research that's why no one knows much about him at all. I too was told Susan was a Cherokee Indian. James Caldwell Williams was my gr gr gr grandfather's brother- his name was William Stephen Williams and he lived in Lamar and Kingsland Twp. in Johnson Co. James Caldwell Williams was born Feb 23, 1826 in Posey Co Indiana, he was the oldest son to Jesse and Nancy (Caldwell) Williams. James Caldwell Williams died in 1897 and is buried in Coal Hill Cemetery Johnson Co Arkansas. I found this on a Mrs. Serilda Williams in Johnson Co.- Name: P. W. SELF Spouse: SERILDA [Mrs] WILLIAMS Marriage Date: 10 Dec 1887 County: Johnson State: AR This man's name was Pleasent Ware Self (the daughter of James Caldwell Williams, Martha Elizabeth Williams married the son of this Pleasent Ware Self, William T. Self). I however have never found Serilda living with P.W Self in any Census's but the marriage obviously took place or it wouldn't have been recorded. I have found P.W. Self was the neighbor of James Caldwell Williams and Serilda in the 1880 census. I haven't found a marriage record for James Caldwell Williams and Susan, but if they got married somewhere else other then Johnson Co it wouldn't have been recorded there. If you want anymore you can look on my website at http://williamsgenealogy.net Everything I have found so far is on that website. Kristen
