I am also interested in the Hays Chapel Methodist Church which is located there. Why was the community named Hays Chapel and who were the first trustees of the church and what year was it started? I am interested in these questions because my ancestor Pleasant I. Fiser (1808-1897) and several of his children moved to Johnson Co.,AR in the early 1880's from Weakley Co.,TN. and Calloway Co.,KY. Pleasant and his brother Archibald J. Fiser (ca1820-ca 1890?) were among the first trustees of a church in Weakley Co.,TN also named Hays Chapel Methodist Church, etablished in 1848. I would like to know if there is a connection here, or whether this is just a coincidence. Any info will be greatly appreciated!
