    1. Wondering if any other Williams/Self researchers ran into this along the way?
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hV.2ADE/2215 Message Board Post: I found a bunch of weird information along the way while doing research on the James Caldwell Williams family, some of this was told to me by a Moody researcher. I have found James Caldwell Williams married 1) Serilda Marvel then a Moody researcher told me that James Caldwell Williams married 2) Susan (unknown)/Swing/Moody Now sometime along the way obviously James Caldwell Williams and Serilda Marvel must have divorced. I find a Mrs Serilda Williams marrying a Pleasent Ware Self (Sr.) Ok now the question is, does anyone else find this weird? Let me explain a bit better- James Caldwell and Serilda Williams's children were James Preston Williams and Martha Elizabeth Williams *James Preston Williams married Laura Swing, daughter of Susan (unknown)/Swing/Moody/Williams & Alford Swing. *Martha Elizabeth Williams married William T. Self, son of Pleasent Ware Self (Sr.) and Nancy King. Now as you can see clearly both James Caldwell Williams and Serilda Marvel Williams married in-laws of their children. Did anyone else know about this? or is anyone else researching these lines? Kristen kris440@comcast.net

    3. I received this from the Southwestern Tennessee Mailing List: CT ----- Original Message ----- To: SW-TN-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:SW-TN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, December 10, 2004 12:13 PM Subject: [SW-TN] Bill Passed Senate The bill that will prevent us from getting certificates has passed the Senate. If they do not improve the language a little, WE may not be able to use the records in our genealogy. This will mean unless you prove yourself a very close family member, you won't be able to get even the oldest birth or death certificates. See Below: Senate Bill 2845 has passed the Senate without our suggested wording. One of the provisions that did pass reads as follows: "ISSUANCE TO FAMILY MEMBERS- Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary, in consultation with the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the States, shall establish minimum standards for issuance of a birth certificate to specific family members, their authorized representatives, and others who demonstrate that the certificate is needed for the protection of the requestor's personal or property rights." Assuming we were not successful at getting our language in the bill, it looks like our next shot is to get our language in the minimum standards, making it clear that the States are free to issue non-certified copies to the public. You are free to forward this to other interested parties as you see fit. David E. 3. Becky, Thank you for your generous offer to do lookups in your books. I am looking for any information on Logan Mingo WOOD and Isaac WOOD. I have some information on Isaac and a few of his many descendants but Logan is a complete mystery. He is on the early taxpayer lists in the 1830's but disappears completely by 1840. I suspect the only resource book that "might" have anything on him would be the Arkansas Centennial 1836-1936 - Arkansas Democrat. Could you just check that for me? Thank you so much and Happy Thanksgiving. 1. RE: Resource Books - STATE OF ARKANSAS - Arkansas Death Record Index
    2. Geoff Fynes
    3. Becky Thank you for your kind offer. I am looking for a reference to a death of a W.N. Ray who was married to Louisa Ross in Johnson County on December 31, 1891. I suspect that the W. may stand for William but I can't be sure. Louisa Ray married Robert Fynes on 9th May 1904 so I presume that W.N. Ray must have died before that date. I would be very grateful if you could look in your "Arkansas Death Record Index" volumes to see if there is a reference to W.N. Ray's death. 3. Geoff, The Arkansas Death Record Index does not start until 1914 and it goes through 1948. Unfortunately I didn't find a W.N. or Louisa Ray.
